Tybee Hotel is a low quality hotel with terrible amenities, awful smell through the building, and rooms with no locking features, but you can pay 300 a night plus additional fees to be near the beach.

The maid service did not clean our room i had to call and complain for clean towels

I like Tybee Island Hotel because it's located close to shopping and restaurants. We walked to most of our venues. Check in was great. We were even given tokens for a free drink at the tiki bar for our anniversary. The ocean is still amazing with easy access. What I didn't like: Housekeeping after day two didn't exist. We did call and request it, but no one ever cleaned the room after we left for the day to enjoy the beach. We decided to just request towels and clean ourselves. One day they brought up towels after we called and then a few hours later we returned from dinner to find a huge bag of towels/wash cloths hanging from our door. I guess that was our message to quit asking for service? The other negative was that the elevator was out of order for most of our stay on the fourth floor. They made the service elevator available, but the instruction to use it wasn't clear to a few elderly couples so we had to help them. There was a lack of signage on where to find the service elevators. We used the stairs most of the time, but some people cannot use the stairs for medical reasons and/or age. We stayed at Hotel Tybee 10 years ago on our honeymoon, and it certainly has deteriorated in quality and service for the price we paid.

It was a good place to stay. Very convenient to shopping, the Pier and eating places. The only inconvenience was with the cleaning of our room. We stayed there for 3 days and never had our room cleaned. We piled the trash in the corner. Everything else was great. Very nice and friendly staff.
