Wonderful country feel
Posted 22 Mar 2019 on HotelsThis was a breath of fresh air. This place is difficult to find, near impossible in the dark and GPS sends you in the wrong direction, but the front desk person will find you anywhere in town and guide you in. The hospitality doesn’t end there. This is truly a place that goes above and beyond. It would be a great place to spend a couple of days. Unfortunately we were only there overnight. Wish we could have stayed longer.

Nice, clean hotel in a quiet little village. Within easy travelling distance of Santander.

Spain touring
Posted 29 Oct 2018 on HotelsThree night stay to visit the sights surrounding and Santillana Del Mar. It is an absolutely very clean hotel and room. Room is basic and the wifi and hot water for shower really good. Very quiet area so slept well. Breakfast a basic continental with bread, cheese meat and lots of sweet cakes. Make sure to get a confirmation email returned to you re check in time for someone to meet you there, as we had to wait for approx 40 mins for someone to arrive to let us in, when phoning it goes to office which is inside and no one on site. No heating on in rooms and it was very cold weekend with storms and hail and wind. The room was cold and first two nights we had one blanket on our bed then I asked for a second which we were given. At this time of year for overseas visitors not use to the cold , should be accessible to a few blankets in the room, if heating not on and maybe a small carpet next to bed to take chill off the tiled floor.

Friendly hotel in a great location
Posted 3 Aug 2018The Santander ferry arrived 2 hours late - meaning we missed the 8pm checkin at the hotel. No matter - as we’d emailed Hector, who had a plan B and we were easily able to get the keys.
We stayed in the family room, which was two good-sized bedrooms -and a bathroom - accessed through one front door. Perfect!
Decent continental breakfast with friendly service in a garden room the next morning. The coffee was great and the kids loved their not chocolates.
There are stunning views over the hills from the windows. The inn is properly rural. We woke to the sound of cockerels crowing. But it being Spain, they were kind enough to wait till 8am.
The villlage of Vispieres has a couple of bars, but there isn’t a huge amount going on. It’s about 2k to the beautiful,if frantic, Santillana del Mar, which is on the pilgrim trail. We went the other way - to Puente San Miguel - for dinners out.
The inn is very close to the Altamira caves and about 7k from the beach at Suances. Recommended!
