Beautiful stay in family home
Posted 7 Feb 2019 on HotelsThe stay at the La Hierdra was excellent! It is a bit of distance from downtown, but it is quiet and easy to get to via bus, moto-taxi or a 30 min walk. It is very clean, the breakfast is excellent and plenty. The rooms are spacious and get tidied every day. They offer dinner which is a 4 course meal and is very good as well. Rey and Nani are very helpful in providing historical context of Cuba, also setting up private tour guides, and taxis. The inter-generational family is very welcoming and the gardens were really beautiful. There is wifi capacity and is definitely a place I would come back to.

Une véritable adresse de charme à Santiago
Posted 5 Mar 2024 on HotelsNous avons passé un très agréable séjour à la Hiedra. Les hôtes, sympathiques et serviables offrent un accueil vraiment chaleureux.
La casa est superbe, située dans le quartier résidentiel et donc calme de Vista Alegre.
La chambre est très propre et spacieuse tout comme la salle de bain. Le lit king-size est très confortable.
Quant au petit déjeuner servi dans le jardin... un pur régal: original et inventif car chaque matin des petites nouveautés sont proposées.
L'éloignement du centre historique n'a pas été un problème pour nous car nous avions une voiture de location que nous avons pu mettre en sécurité dans la propriété moyennant un supplément de 5€.
Merci pour ce beau souvenir de Santiago!

Beste accommodatie in onze vier weken Cuba.
Mooie locatie barstensvol sfeer. Charismatische eigenaar. Gids voor stads tour verbonden aan de casa.
Diner en ontbijt top. Niet het goedkoopste adres, maar zeker het beste.

Propietaria pazza è razzista
Posted 9 May 2019 on HotelsHostal la hiedra. Grosso problema con la propietaria . Non ha fatto entrare le due ragazze di colore che erano con noi . Ha detto che erano ragazze di strada offendendo profondamente me il mio amico e le 2 nostre amiche . Abbiamo dovuto pagare una altra struttura per ospitarle . Ora vorremmo il rimborso .... in più mancava spesso la acqua calda e spegneva la aria condizionata ...

Very good “casa” in Santiago de Cuba.
Posted 5 Mar 2019 on HotelsFriendly reception and clean house. We had room no 1 with good relaxing chairs outside in front of our room. This house has her own cook. We had three times breakfast and dinner which was excellent, served in the garden. Save parking place for the car. Pieta and Ronald.
