Dear Caroline, I wanted to thank you for taking the time and commenting on your recent stay with us. I view comments from guests such as yourself as an opportunity to better our offerings and our service. I truly believe that guest’s feedback allow us the opportunity to focus on the areas where we can improve.I was very concerned to see that you did not enjoy your overall experience at the Holiday Inn – Santa Maria. To me, it means that we did not deliver on providing you with an experience customary to the Holiday Inn’s brand. Furthermore, I must apologize for the inconveniences you experienced while staying with us. While your survey did not mention anything specific, if you have the time, I would like to hear about why we failed to meet your expectations. While I know my team is not perfect, any information you can give will help us ensure these types of occurrences do not happen to other guests. I cannot thank you enough for your feedback and comments. I hope, in the future, you would consider intercontinental properties for your travel needs. Staff were extremely nice. Due to the construction, they were limited on amenities.

The walls were thin and I could hear the people in the hallways talking loudly. We couldn’t get the TV remote to change channels, but we didn’t bother to call the front desk as we weren’t too invested in watching tv so we gave up. The shower faucet in our room was hard to operate; at first we didn’t think it was working so we called down to the desk and they instructed us to pull the knob out, which we tried with no success. Somebody immediately came up to our room “to fix” and it turned out you had to REALLY PULL HARD” to get it to work. They are in a middle of remodeling (they had tarps in the hallway) and they hope to fix this with the upgrades. That all being said the staff was friendly and efficient. The price was good and I’m sure once the remodel is done it will be better. We only stayed one night on the way down to LA, I’d stay here again.

As for the hotels upgrades, I am happy to inform you that our new owners are in the process of restoring this beautiful property to it's full potential; having already taken the first handful of room out to transform. Many of the items you mentioned will be addressed, and we are looking forward to bringing you a product well above industry average.
