"Nice Southwestern vibe, staff friendly and generally helpful. Food in restaurant and lounge was excellent. Appreciated the free yoga class on weekends. Safe in our room didn't work due to low batteries. After a fairly long wait, maintenance person came to fix it but it still didn't work. We enjoyed the hot tub on the first day of our stay but it was out of order the last 3 days of our stay. Noticeable smoke smell in our room due to dining room fireplace. "

"Spent a weekend at La Fonda en route to Denver. Would highly recommend this hotel. The staff and management were welcoming and so helpful to new visitors to Santa Fe. The location is within walking distance to almost everything you would want or need here - Restaurants, boutique shoppes and galleries all around. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable (they upgraded us to a one bedroom suite), and the restaurant was always busy (we only had breakfast here, but delish!). "

" We were on the top (2nd floor) The top step is higher by 1 1/2 inches than the rest with no caution tape or at the very least a strip of reflective tape. I tripped on the top step and went down, After a week all the bruises are coming out :( As I stated, at least a warning. Our minds are conditioned to a gait with steps that are up to code :( Sorry but the girl at the front desk at check-in needs to work on her people skills and maybe smile a little :("
