The staff was great the lady who checked us was efficient and friendly. Room was very clean and comfortable with the exception of the bed, it was too low hard for a senior citizen to get in and out of. The TV was hard to figure out the channel guide showed at least 8 stations which we wanted to watch that we couldn't figure how to get. Other stations came in fine. We will definitely book La Quinta again, have stayed at La Quinta before.

Really great stay! Property is nice and modern, and literally one block from the wharf and boardwalk. Room itself is huge and super clean and comfortable (and I'm very picky). Had a great view of the ocean and a balcony! Would definitely stay again.

We had very loud people staying in two rooms above us. Finally went to the front desk at 4 am and they did seem to get them to be quiet after that. We paid the extra $25 for parking under the hotel thinking it would be secured overnight, but the gate was open at all times. Ironically, a sign by the garage entrance indicated the parking was at no cost for guests.

The room somehow as a weird alarm clock on the nightstand, and probably, the previous guest set the alarm at 6am, which waked me up in the early morning... It was super annoying. It almost ruined my day. Additionally, the front desk service is consistently disappointing. Only the woman serving in the morning is friendly; the others are pretty rude actually. Don't come for your happy holidays!

This hotel was awesome! Easy walk to the boardwalk. The hot breakfast was a major plus- eggs, bacon, sausage, waffles, breads, cereal, fruit. Saved a lot of time and money having those options when waking up. I was originally going to book a balcony suite, but decided to save $100 and just get a regular king room. Then I was delighted when I arrived with my daughter, the host at the desk offered to upgrade us to balcony suite for free! Just had to wait an extra 15 minutes for it to be ready. That was the best surprise ever and made our stay a totally awesome experience. It was nice having breakfast on the patio of our room with the sea breeze. Will return to this hotel next time in Santa Cruz!

Loved the location. The rooms aren't very quiet. We were told we were loud, which I understood when we were watching a movie and apologized but seems people also thought we were stomping and moving furniture. The staff even told us we should not use the TV but headphones and a laptop. We would be able to watch TV at a normal volume. So the second night we all sat in silence since they said we would be asked to leave if there was another complaint. Additionally the parking gate was never locked and you can get into the hotel from the garage so why are we paying and it seemed unsafe.

We paid for an ocean view suite but definitely did not get ocean view. Partial ocean is even being considerate. Sub par breakfast. Towards the end, even with 30 minutes left they didn't went to refill the foods so would go missing and once I did flag her down, she watered down the pancake batter! TV was cutting in and out. Clean hotel though. Liked how it was close to everything.
