We are not happy
Posted 23 Sep 2021 on HotelsWe booked two nights at this hotel. We contacted the owner on whats app to let them know about our stay. We got in reply that they were not in the island at the moment, they were in vacation... so we couldn't able to stay at their place. We had to booked somewhere else, since then we haven't got any news from them, no apologies and no refund ! We called two times Hotels.com to let them know and try to join the owner as well few times without answer, this is not professional at all !!

One of the most unique hotels we’ve ever stayed in. Got in around noon the first day and walked the grounds and hiked in the afternoon. Decided to have dinner both nights at the property and it was amazing both nights. I highly recommend eating all your meals at the property (breakfast was included). Just take cash with you to pay since there are no atms/credit card readers in the caldera town. Also, we found that most of the atms in Sao Felipe, the airport town, were out of cash. Jenniñha at the hotel, who was also the cook, coordinated with a guide to take us up the volcano early the next morning and also set up transport back to the airport for the following morning. This was a top notch personalized experience at a great price.

The property lies in the volcano valley, with amazing view, a bit isolated from the Cha village, but quite close to the new road and end of the trek (coming down from the volcano) (but the owner though will be happy to help you to get a aluguer/ colectivo), so I recommend you to book the transportation in advance.
The view of the volcano is simply awesome, and the owner is super nice and helpful. The place is simple, but super clean and modern. The dinner & breakfast super rich and delicious. And to top up the conversations with the owner and meeting her family were a bonus :)

Nice and isolated location, great for pictures and for trekking around.
Friendly and welcoming hosts with home made foods.

It was a lovely guesthouse to spend a few nights in. The owner was a delight and helped us organise our arrival from the airport and also ensured a taxi was waiting for us when we departed. The owner and family were very warm and welcoming and provided delicious breakfast and probably the best dinners we had during our time on Cape Verde!
A climb to Fogo with a very good guide could also be arranged there, it was great fun.
The only 2 critical points I have concern the WiFi, which was only accessible from a little alley away from the rooms (its managable though, you are there to Holiday and not work after all!) and the lack of hot water in the showers.
I'd certainly reccomend a stay to anyone who asks, especially for the delicious food and the stunning views of Fogo :)

Pure Magic
Posted 8 Dec 2019 on HotelsThis place is pure magical. The place is owned by wine producers, a lovely couple who do everything to make you feel like at home and both speak very good english.
At this place we had the best food of our whole journey, everything cooked is out of the own garden. When coming home after the hike you can walk through the winefields or take a look at the production place of the "cha do fogo". The place is not in the main town, but just ask the boss if you want to go for a drink, he will bring you there.
