This was a clean, cute pension. There are many stairs although to take to the Pension floor. The check in was very easy as well and in the heart of Old Town.

Rooms are spacious and clean and the location is amazing. It’s on a main strip yet it’s soundproof! Robert and the lady working there are wonderful with the best food recommendations.

So close to St Maria Cathedral and the fortress with great views of harbor and city. Great area for tapas and shops. It is a walk up, and older, but that works well for me.

Great staff, helpful about where to visit. Very clean room with comfortable bed and bedding. Dated decor but extremely good value and would definitely stay again.

Charming hotel in old town San Sebastián. Bathroom separate from room, not a problem for us. Lots of fantastic food options in the immediate area. Lovely balcony to sit and sip wine and watch the world go by.

Avoid at all Costs

I’ve read past reviews where the owner counter attacks the reviewer. So let’s go. Firstly, the advertisement says staffed 9.00 am to 9.00 pm. This is not the case. You have to call to gain entry and someone turns up in a sweat. Dumps the keys and you and that’s it after a cursory show through of the place. Secondly, yes it’s an old building but the stairs are basically unsafe. Thirdly, the shower in our room was faulty. It didn’t drain. The room smelled damp. Issue was raised with Manager who didn’t respond. Fourthly, the fan in our room was defective our neighbor asked us to stop the oscillation as it was scrapping the common wall. Manager tries to get you communicating off Hotels.com app and use WhatsApp. I see this as deceptive. We stayed one night then left. Burned €550 but put it down to experience. The ratings can’t be believed. 4.6 on Google and 9.2 on Hotels.com

Hi Ross...You have taken your time since August 17 to express your very bad experience...We are not going to allow you to disrespect the staff or lie...You have made a reservation in a pension, in hotels from 3 *** it is mandatory to have a receptionist, the rest do not, this is a 1* pension.An email is sent to all guests to know the arrival time, check-in is from 3 to 9 p.m., but luggage is allowed to be left before the time and they are notified when the room is available, there is a supplement of 20 for those who need to arrive later and always upon request, our schedule is until 9:00 p.m., in your house you will set the rules, in ours we will.We already started badly, you arrived at 11:15 p.m. without warning, we had no obligation to open the door for you but we did and we did not charge you the supplement. The next day, when my partner went to clean the room, because we clean every day, she told me that there were no guests or suitcases, I called them and they hung up the phone on us, for 4 nights that they paid for, they actually enjoyed a few hours because you wanted.Only you know about the rest of the complaints, since neither you nor your neighbor at that time have told us anything and her neighbor gave us a score of 9/10, we can show it to her if she wants...As for the stairs, it is a house that is more than 250 years old, we do not have an elevator, but we help you carry your luggage up, the house passes its inspections without any problem, the fact that it is difficult for you to climb them is already a personal problem and above all all in health, he is still young.For next time I recommend that you notify your arrival time, especially if you are going to arrive outside the hotel's opening hours.If you have a problem with the room, it is normal to communicate it, as far as possible we try to fix things and make the guest feel at home...Thank you for choosing us and for expressing your experience...
