I had a pleasant stay at Soy Local San José, especially considering the price point. The room was clean and met all my expectations for comfort. The real standout, however, was the staff—they were outstanding and extremely helpful throughout my stay. The property itself is located in an area that feels fine for walking around during the day, but I would recommend caution at night. If you’re heading out in the evening, I’d suggest taking an Uber or a taxi for peace of mind. Overall, a great value stay with exceptional service!

Very central,walking distances to restaurants and shopping.The hotel is opposite the police station with parking though it is in a sckethy area the hotel itself aas good. The AC was very noisy and out dated,the shower head was only spraying 1 streak of water and the sink had hair clogged in it.I only stay 2 nights and it was decent for the price.

Cool place if you don't leave the property. It's in the middle of the red light district riddled with homeless and crackheads but still relatively safe during the day if you are young and in groups.

The staff at this hotel were awesome. They helped me check-in quickly and efficiently. The location is pretty bad. Even though its next to a police station, there's lots of homeless, hookers, and poop on the sidewalks. If you walk uphill in either direction you will see more touristy areas. However, its pretty bad in the surrounding area of the hotel. Per the advice of all the staff at the hotel, I never went outside after 8pm local time.

The locals mentioned the place was very dangerous before I walked in. I decided not to stay there after I booked. The surrounding area is not all that great either.
