Late traffic noise on the main street, and the internet is very unreliable. Staff were courteous and helpful!

No Other Options? Stay at Hotel Aeromundo!

Posted 7 Jul 2022 on Hotels
The good things were that it was available, there was a shared sitting area and mini-kitchen, conveniently located near shopping and dining, it was clean to Costa Rica standards, and the owner and staff were great! However, the hotel was quite a bit overpriced for the low season (rainy June) and for the location. It was located on an extremely busy and loud street. The beds were old but comfortable. We had an enlightening time talking with the owner, Doris; She is a gem!

Pay extra to stay

Posted 24 Apr 2017
I arrived to the hotel and checked in. The rooms are very old and smell like mold. There was no a.c as advertised and it was extremely hot and humid. an hour after checking in and going to dinner, I received a call from the owner notifying me I needed to pay extra. Of course this was incorrect as I reserved and payed the hotel through Expedia. Eventually I had to contact Expedia and they kindly refunded my money and offered to find me another hotel.

Central to our vacation travels

Posted 13 Feb 2017 on Orbitz
Pros: Central in Costa Rica. Cost effective. Helpful staff. Breakfast included.
Location: Central to travel routes. Easy to find. Easy access to restaurants and ATM's.
Doris and her staff were very helpful. Doris spoke English, and some of get staff were less fluent. The hotel is an older facility so we didn't expect anything fancy. We were upgraded to a full suite at Doris' suggestion with minimal additional charge. We traveled around Costa Rica quite a bit and we used Hotel Aeromundo as a base staying there three times in two weeks. it was also central in the city so we had good access to amenities. We had safe indoor parking for our rented car.

DO NOT STAY HERE Read my review

Posted 30 Mar 2016 on Hotels
The advertisement in NO way reflects the actual hotel. The pictures on the web site are extremely flattering to the hotel. Good photographer. They could not organize a taxi or shuttle. The desk is not 24 hour and in fact the office area door is seldom open. Not open for checkout. A phone number on the door. TV a big old style from before plasma was invented. No room desk. Rooms are in an indoor parking garage. Motorcycles in the morning wake you at 5. Hotel may have been nice when new. The bedding, vertical curtains, linen, paint, etc indicate 1970’s. No effort to keep the hotel up since then. Nothing in the hotel is clean. Had the basic breakfast the first day. Got sick. Maybe the cook coughing or was the kitchen as dirty too. I pre payed for the breakfast but ate out after. Carpet ripped with years of dirt. Cob webs well established in each corner. Toilet did not work properly. Fixed it each time I used it. Bathroom was a rough add. I stayed only because it was Easter holiday week. No rooms available elsewhere. I was ok to lose my money. Didn’t complain because the only person there had full access to my room. No manager there. Long term issues. I believed a review on this site, which said that the hotel is okay. As a travelling community we have to be more honest so that our fellow travellers do not end up in places like this.

I was out of the country and read it today sorry we did not met his expectations. We are really sorry . Office hours are normal hours but there is a bell that is answered 24 hours a day inmediately because we do have to be checking around the hotel but always there is a person here. Tv are been changed and still three room with regular tv not new screens. Regarding breakfast we serve b eskfast that included juice, fruit, coffee, eggs, gallo pinto and toast do not know what was the problem we really sorry with this gentleman and apologize We are a family owned little hotel and try to give family atmosphere service
