Cozy, clean and great staff! Dennis was amazing and set the standard from the minute we arrived. He was super friendly and informative . The staff at the hotel restaurant was equally pleasant. We will definitely stay here next time we visit San Jose.

A beautiful historic building with nice enough rooms, but the staff upon registration was not nice at all, and there were no good options for dining. One restaurant on property with limited hours and it was very cold (we were told there were issues with the HVAC system.) There is no complimentary coffee in the public areas. Since the restaurant has limited hours there are snacks and drinks (canned and bottled) for sale in the lobby. There were bottles of wine for sale in the lobby, as well. We asked if there were any cups or glasses and were told we could use paper cups from our room (which was located in a separate building, not convenient for staying in the "parlor area" of the lobby and sharing a glass of wine.) I loved the building and grounds but won't be returning to this property.

Our car was broken-in despite being parked in the monitored hotel parking. I am deeply disappointed in the hotel and can’t believe something like this could happen. The area is very unsafe and there is not enough security.

I didn't like that they charge $20 per day for parking and $4.95 per day for WiFi, because that was not noted on Expedia. There was also a car with a window smashed out in the parking lot, making it feel unsafe on the perimeter. I was there for a wedding, and the reception (organized by the hotel) was nice but there were delays and seating mix ups. Otherwise, it was a very nice place.

Wow! What a wonderful place to stay. The room was amazing. The pool was under construction so we didn’t get to use the pool but it looks nice. The founds was so beautiful and well kept. The breakfast was very tasty and has great selection. Would definitely stay here again

Staff was rude, did not explain the surcharges for parking or the incidentals and just charged me the amount that is over $200 more than my booking price, when I asked about it she was visibly annoyed at me and was sighing and saying its incidentals (no mention of parking fee, it was a surprise I learned when I checked out). Charged 7 dollars per water bottle unless you're a Hilton member. But worst was the weddings that happened throughout the weekend we stayed there, music was blasting so hard on the first floor banquet hall such that the door in our second floor room was shaking to the bass beat. We saw another guest complaining about it to the front desk and the response was "the event will end at 11pm, they booked it so nothing we can do about it." Maybe then book it such that it doesn't happen until 11pm in the same building as the guest building? And oh, never once did anyone come to clean our room, and we asked for more bath towels at the front desk and it never arrived, wasn't surprising given their service overall. Never staying again.

Beautiful property. Not as fancy as I expected. Questionable neighborhood. And they had what I can only describe as large hand towels at the pool one of the two days. Seemed impossible to get a proper coffee on-site.

I stayed in a room that was remodeled. It was beautiful and very comfortable. It was so good to see this historic site looking so good. We had appetizers and a chicken sandwich that were very tasty at the restaurant.
