Gave a 4 star because it met all my expectations. The good: great location for excursions anywhere downtown. A block from the cable cars and sub-$20 uber to the wharf. Nice lobby and polite, competent staff. I was overall pleased with the value for the price. The "meh": rooms are a bit dated. For example, TV did not support any streaming or airplay technology so we were unable to watch a movie we wanted to see. We booked a room for 5 which included using a fold out couch. That was a joke - hadn't been used in years and the springs were mostly on the floor and there were not sheets or pillows. Insisted on a roll-away bed which worked fine. Side note - unless you want to spend $36 on a standard breakfast buffet just walk to Melli's coffee stand right across the street - $6 bagels and proper $5 espresso... went there every morning.

Receptionists is helpful and all employees are greeting us. Nice customer service.

Staff are wonderful. Not being told power outage was PGE caused & therefore had no water & emergency lighting due to them was not taking responsibility to make other accommodations. The manager at our check out time did only minimum to give reparations as if we were being unreasonable. Staff was great. I wonder if they are paid well enough.

The beds were not Queen size, they were Full and chairs were terribly uncomfortable.
