"I would have given it 10 out of 10 if it wasn't the lack of hot water during my husband shower when it was 2 degrees outside. He had to get out wet and have a shower in another apartment as there was no one to fix the issue at the time. The dinner and breakfast were amazing and the service from the waiter as well. It is a beautiful Quinta with great views. The bed and bedsheets were really nice and the apartments are great for people staying longer as you have the ability to cook your own...

"We had a most delightful two day stay at the Casa do Santo. Our wonderful host, Maria was full of local and historical knowledge and made us feel very welcome. Many generations of her family have tended the winery upon which this beautiful boutique hotel is built. Our room was spacious and very comfortable with beautiful views of the vineyards. "If you are traveling to the Douro Valley, you must stop for a night and stay and experience this spectacular place. We started with a fantastic wine and port tasting and tour. Excellent! Then we checked into our fabulous room with an amazing views of the river and town of Pinhao. Dinner at their restaurant was nothing short of spectacular. Service, ambience and taste were all five stars. Th en their listing of a complimentary continental breakfast is misleading. This is like continental breakfast we’ve been offered. It was a full spread of a fresh fruit, eggs, toast, assorted meats, pancakes, yogurt, assortment of fresh cheeses, fresh juice's, full selection of coffees, danishes, breads and on and on. So much and so delicious. I don’t normally take time to write reviews but listen to me when you are considering a night in Pinhao, stay here. Worth every dollar. "

"We had a most delightful two day stay at the Casa do Santo. Our wonderful host, Maria was full of local and historical knowledge and made us feel very welcome. Many generations of her family have tended the winery upon which this beautiful boutique hotel is built. Our room was spacious and very comfortable with beautiful views of the vineyards. Everything was first rate. The breakfast was outstanding and the hotel offers tapas and their very own fine wine in the evening. The hotel is located in a charming little village on the side of the valley with stunning views. You can literally hike from your room through the village down the side of the valley through ancient terraces with vineyards and olive groves. The trails leads down to the Douro River and should not be missed. Our stay was truly magical. "

"Absolutely lovely accommodation with stunning views! Perfect for a quiet and cozy night out in the mountain with all amenities to make the stay comfortable. Definitely a must book just for the view alone. Room was well designed, furnished and cosy."

"For us, this was a great choice. A quiet location and we had a view of the river from our room and also from the common area patios. The hotel clerk gave us excellent advice to take the scenic train from the station across the street which was a wonderful experience. He also showed us a scenic drive through the wine country with a detour to a lookout point which was breathtaking. However this is a very isolated location with one restaurant next door and one across the street. We did have a great meal at the next door restaurant. But if you are looking for lots of dining options this is not the place to stay. The room itself was a bit small and not recently updated. But it was very quiet and we had the window open all night with a nice breeze off the river. Breakfast was a full buffet with lots of options. "

"We absolutely loved our stay at Quinta da Marka! It was beautiful and on such a picturesque spot along the river. It was so relaxing and a restful spot for our honeymoon. The train station is nearby to get to other cities if you wanted to, otherwise it is quite isolated in this area. Walking over to Quinta do Crasto for a wine tasting & tour was a highlight of the area too! The Quinta offered breakfast, lunch, and dinner which was very convenient. Angela was so helpful in getting us checked in and recommending things to do. We would recommend this to anyone heading to the Duoro Valley!"
