A little piece of paradise in Samara......not much of a selection as far as meals, but the property is amazing! Little Internet connection. Their website could use better directions as to location. We spent hours looking for the resort.

the service, from the moment I stepped in was an amazing experience, the score for reviews are really low for what this place is.

Unique is a word that gets thrown around a lot. In this case, it applies. The Flying Crocodile is a small grouping of individually designed cottages set in a garden of plants, fish pools and walkways. The swimming pool itself is beautiful with a small waterfall. Birds, iguanas and butterflies appear to like it there. Howler monkeys may wake you early, but you won’t mind.
The breakfast, included, is excellent. Cereal, fresh fruit, yogurt, and eggs are on offer.
You are near several beautiful beaches, but be aware that you are in the ‘jungle’; getting to the hotel is part of the adventure; the dusty roads are potholed and twisty; taking the ‘short route’ requires crossing a small stream in the dry season. An SUV or 4WD is a good idea. French and Spanish and English seem to be the main languages here, so anyone can get along. It’s an enchanting place.

Each room is uniquely designed and due to a booking error in the property's part we were fortunate enough to sample two different cabins, both offered a special experience to stay at. Other than the design of the cabins, the hotel is extremely family friendly and the new owners even have a little girl of their own. The pool was terrific and kept our kids occupied all day long, in fact we didn't get the chance to sample the beach because they didn't want to leave the pool. Hotel's restaurant is good although dishes portions are on the small side and you don't really have other good options nearby. They don't serve lunch so be prepared. During the wet season the road to Samara may be flooded and require a 4x4 to cross and also some locals to guide you where the road used to be where there is now a gushing river. Overall I would definitely recommend to stay for several days here if you can help it

Pleasant surprise !
Posted 4 May 2018Wasn't sure what to expect when we booked this. Rooms were very spacious and clean. A little off the beaten path, we didn't believe our GPS !. Some better signage would help. Lots of lizards and howler monkeys ! Very friendly and helpful staff !

Amazing
Posted 6 Jul 2017Nature at its best!
Relaxing atmosphere, many animals to observe, home cooked food, very kind and attentive staff! Just wind down and feel like in a resort! Only hick up are the hard beds, but looking at what you get for the price, this is really a minor thing, especially because the rooms are so special and big!
Be prepared to be awaken by howler monkeys, to see a bull frog eat out if a cats bowl, observe gekos, lizards, frogs, birds and butterflies without having to book a tour! Amazing!!
