lovely hotel in a rural setting overlooking a lake

Posted 29 Jan 2015
Pros: everything the setting, the room the staff the food
Cons: nothing
Location: besides a lake with lovely walks
the hotel was a little difficult to find mainly because it is in a rural stetting by a lake. The room was excellent and the staff could not have been more helpful persevering with our broken Spanish, the evening meal and breakfast were excellent and very good value. We would definitely stay again for longer next time and would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel to anyone.

An Unusual Situation

Posted 26 Jun 2014 on Hotels
This is really quite a good hotel in a very deserted location. There must be only about 100 people live in this village on the shores of a dammed reservoir. Signposts to the hotel are non-existent, you need to use Google Street Maps to learn the exact location of the place, and make sure you turn off the motorway at the correct junction (380 going south or 387 going north) otherwise you may get truly lost. However, this is still a hotel worth staying at. The food is not bad, and very cheap. Rooms are comfortable and the showers are great.

Very quiet. Lovely rural setting .

Very beautiful outlook right by a man made reservoir in a semi deserted village but yet only 30 mins from Salamanca. Quiet atmospheric setting .limited menu but at 10 euros very good value indeed. Staff very helpful even borrowed us 2 bikes for great day out on quiet roads. Room great. Breakfast bit boring only slight downside. Well worth staying here.

Hotel is by a lake.

If you dont speak Spanish or French then probably better to try somewhere else. It was impossible to communicate with any of the staff. Menu was in English and said wine included but we were charged for the wine in morning. Hotel very nice and half way from Santander to costa del sol.

A hidden gem!

Loved our stay here. The reception staff went out of their way to assist us and our lack of Spainish vocabulary. The rooms were perfect and the views beautiful. We really enjoyed walking around the town and some of the ruins on the lake. The food here was really good and sooo cheap. Would definitely recommend to anyone.

nice location

Posted 1 Sep 2013
Pros: lovely location
Cons: to have a sign up saying its a hotel . also to at least have either an English speaking staff or at least some imformation in English there
Location: location was great as its very rural but on the minus side there isn't anything in the village at all, infact most of the village is actual ruins
Difficult to find once in the village as theres no signs on it . lovely location and very nice hotel, are only complaint really is that theres no member of staff who spoke a word of English which for us was very difficult to communicate ,also its very remote theres nothing around ie shope bars etc

Un petit bijou cache

Posted 15 Oct 2014

A recommander chaudement donc...
