Don’t believe the pictures; the air conditioned comfort penthouse advertised does not have windows in the walls of the apartment, and was barely ‘indoors’ much less ‘air conditioned’. There is a single room with air conditioning. The room itself has a broken window that does not enable to close the window which makes the air conditioning pointless. The bed we stayed in had dirty sheets completely with dirt and several strands of hair. The sheets smelled. There are stains in the sofa. There is an electrical current that runs through your arm when turning on the shower tap. The door to the apartment was a makeshift block of wood that barely locked.
To make things all worse, the place blasted music all night and day - bear in mind there is no way to block that out because there are holes in the wall where windows should be. Stay far far away. This should not be allowed to be listed.

Good morning, thank you for the feedback, however I have the right to disagree with you. All accommodations are inspected daily, and nothing goes unattended by our staff. Bed linen is changed every time. About the noise. Really the street is very busy and there is not much to do. The room does have windows, and has a balcony and a balcony with a beautiful view. Too bad you didn't like it.

Pros: secure parking, close to pelourinho, fridge, 2 bedrooms
Cons: no elevator, stairwell is steep. Staff will carry your bags, however.
Location: Felt safe, being so close to pelourinho there was a strong police presence nearby. I was with wife, baby, and mother in law.
Very happy I found this place. The pelourinho is just steps out the front door. The room had 2 bedrooms, everything was clean. If you don't mind walking up the stairs, our room on the top floor had a nice view and a refreshing breeze in the evening. Mini kitchen had a fridge, and one bedroom had an AC unit (only effective at cooling the bedroom, not effective cooling the entire suite though). Breakfast was served in our room on the dining room table. Staff was helpful but I don't know if they speak english. We were there on a Friday night and there was a bit of partying on the streets below well into the night, it was a bit of a problem if trying to sleep in one of the bedrooms. Parking was available in a locked garage, but you need the staff to unlock it for you every time you want to come and go (not a big deal for us).

Boa tarde.
Lamento que tenha tido essa experiência com a gente.
No momento que fez a reserva, eu enviei-lhe uma mensagem avisando que já estavamos com a lotação máxima, como não me respondeu, deixamos o apartamento que estava em manutenção preparado para a receber.
De qualquer das formas, somos a nova gerência do Tamboleiro e estamos tentando melhorar a cada dia.
