Luxurious hotel, needs better management
I would like to give this hotel a wonderful review. It is an amazing hotel but needs many improvements. There was no one at the front desk when we arrived. I walked around for 6-8 minutes before someone arrived. They didn't seem to be expecting us. Our room, a suite, was not prepared. It was dirty and had dirty dishes in the sink. The hotel really is an amazing place and the staff was friendly.
While this hotel is a little out of town, it is an amazing place.
Elegant and beautiful, it is reminiscent of a by-gone era that reflects quality and syle.
It is well worth a stay and walk around to check out the art everywhere.
If wifi is important be aware that it is inconsistent and food options are mainly in Saltillo. Don't let those small details deter you.
This is a like-new and unexpectedly ornate hotel, actually, most unexpectedly! It located a bit out of the way but is very nice and worth the short drive from town. The rooms are spacious and very attractive, just like the rest of the hotel. There was no elevator so we carried our luggage up the stairs to the second floor. I'm a little surprised that we were not given a first floor room because the hotel had only a handful of guests on a Wednesday night.
Our king-size bed did not have a mattress pad, the bottom sheet went directly on the mattress. Not too good of an idea if they want to keep the mattress in good condition. There were sufficient blankets for a near freezing night and the under-window heater made the room very comfortable even on the lowest setting. The room was very quiet, we heard not one outside sound! The window did not have light blocking curtains.
Unfortunately, the shower had not been cleaned. My wife found hair in it and an open shampoo bottle.
The WiFi worked flawlessly as did the TV.
The rocker switch that turned on the vanity light was missing the outer rocker push plate. The vanity light was bright and nice with a curved fixture. The shower (no tub) did have its own light but it was not working (bulb?) but it shared the light with the toilet stool. It did have a bathroom fan on a separate switch to vent humidity.
All the outlets appeared to be 220v capable, at least compatible with 220v two prong round plug

Not so hot
Well, the building is beautiful and the beds were comfy, but it goes downhill from there.
Internet was incredibly slow to the point of uselessness.
The shower head spewed out in all directions with no pressure.
The free coffee was instant Nescafé with powdered creamer.
I guess there’s a reason it’s so cheap.
The hotel was clean and the beds comfortable, but the towels needed some bleach and the walls needed painting. Not having advertised wifi was disappointing as I need it for work. Dogs roam the property, and although they proved to be friendly, it is not enjoyable to have them rushing you barking or running in front of your car as you leave.
I can best describe this hotel as a "Hidden Gem"
I spoke with the owners and this hotel is a project of passion that is currently still evolving.
The main hotel is 15 years old, and they recently opened a restaurant and bar extension. Also it looks like they are finishing an upstairs event / banquet area.
The main lobby/reception area is very big and tastefully finished and furnished.
The rooms are very big, clean and well appointed.
The exterior grounds are all done in stone, and there is a beautiful cactus garden with palapa bbq area at the end of the hotel.
The location was perfect for the trip from Morelia to San Antonio - hotel is at the junction for Monterrey, Saltillo and Matehuala.
Found this hotel by chance and will be staying again on the return leg.
Nice hotel, the arrival was a little ruff, first they did not recognized the reservation and then the room we were assigned was dirty. But after that we were given a new room and everything was good.
