Perfect smaller chateau with great service + charm
Posted 29 Aug 2017 on HotelsWow, what a treat! I booked this place on a whim during a drive from Paris south to Toulouse to meet my husband. It had so much warmth and charm and was the type of hotel to really change your mood. It is quiet and the grounds are gorgeous. I had a fabulous, simple, fresh dinner with lots of local vegetables. Even though I was vegetarian, they were very accommodating and made me a great meal. There is local wine and cognac too. Lots of cute cats on the grounds. Great bicycle riding too. It's a place I look forward to returning!

Nice chateau experience
Posted 28 May 2016 on HotelsPleasant stay in a chateau. Hostess was attentive. Room spacious and renovated bathroom is always a treat in old buildings. Dinner in house was excellent. Breakfast room was charming and substantial. Wifi very iffy, but we are in the sticks.

Visiting cognac region.
Posted 28 Aug 2014
Pros: Tranquility and the evening dinner
Cons: Toilet paper and size of the room bin
Location: Visit cognac region or Blayne to taste the bordeauxs. Roman and sainted also close as is Bordeaux.
Was on my way home and needed a stop off near Bordeaux. This is not my normal cup if tea as only 5 rooms in the super countryside. If you stay there are no dining options except bring your own pic nic for miles.
The food however was spectacular and one of the highlights if my trip. The hostess is lovely and her partner after dinner happy to speak about cognac and the region which they obviously adore with passion.
Two small mentionings. The toilet paper is low grade, Andrew it is not. This is a silly rectified. Also my Apple iPad would not connect to the system and I am not the first. I think it is an apple problem and the problem rectified by using her own computer to check e mails etc.
This stay would be superb for couples or friends. A wonderful experience and it will not be my last visit.

Chateau des Salles is full of character
Posted 4 Aug 2014
Pros: We enjoyed the ambiance and the helpful staff.
Cons: No improvements necessary.
It was lovely staying in an old fashioned chateau which had been renovated without losing any of it's original charm. Sylvie and her assistants couldn't have been more helpful. Dinners and breakfasts were great, we enjoyed the latter on the front lawn. I hope we will return in the not too distant future.

Fantastic place!
Posted 25 Oct 2018 on HotelsFor once in a lifetime we had a castle to ourselves for the weekend (we were lucky, no other guests)! Fantastic experience, beautiful place peacefully located in the wood, great hosts, good food - everything we could wish for!
We'll be back!

Underbart litet slott
