It was brilliant. Too stay in absolute comfort in a cottage built in the 1840s on a working sheep property was a rare privilege.

Gorgeous setting amid farmland - quaint little stone cottages with log fire.

Old world colonial charm
Posted 7 Nov 2017 on Wotif
Pros: Old world charm.
Cons: Reception.
Location: We enjoyed touring the historical old town of Ross.
Loved the beautifully restored accommodation. We stayed here 10 yrs ago and it is still beautiful and remains our favourite stopover in Tasmania.

Enjoyable
Posted 20 May 2017 on WotifFirst impressions was that the farm was beautiful however it was really hard to locate the reception and when we did it was empty. Had to wait about 10 minutes for someone to show up and let us in.
The breakfast provided was great but there was mouse droppings in the cupboards and on the bed.

Colonial Cottage on a working farm
Posted 15 Apr 2017
Pros: Our cottage was clean and comfortable, well furnished and the makings for breakfast were local and fresh.
Location: Somercotes is located just south of the historical town of Ross and a short drive further north to Campbell Town.
Somercotes has several colonial cottages available - we stayed in Bonner. We'd made a last minute booking after our previously confirmed accommodation was suddenly 'unavailable'. Our host was not fazed by us arriving on her doorstep before she'd received our request! We were made to feel very welcome.
