The staff at the reception and others were very friendly and helping. Very good location near Termini. Had a good stay with my wife!

No bells or whistles
Posted 15 Jun 2017 on HotelsI would probably rate my stay as average. All I was really looking for was something inexpensive and close to Termini. The room fit both of those qualifications. However, I'm not sure I would stay there again. I don't particularly like rooms with "shared bathrooms" and this was no exception. There was no tub in the room for washing up, just a sink. The shower was also in the bathroom but had no curtain and you had to squeegee the floor after you were finished. The beds were quite soft and there was no air conditioning, only a fan. That said, if you just want a cheap place to stay it's probably fine.

Clean rooms and near train and bus station!
Posted 29 May 2017 on HotelsClean rooms, close to train station and quiet neighborhood! Very happy during our stay here in Rome. Owner and staff were very friendly and accommodating! I'm just disappointed that they didn't offer a hot water pot (to boil water) inside the room--- that would've our stay better!

A place with character at a Great Value.
Posted 9 May 2016 on HotelsOur stay was brief (2knights). The character of the hotel was instantly noticed, as the old age elevator came down to great us. If you haven't seen one of these in real time, its worth the experience. the room was spacious, clean, and rather comfortable with two twin beds of which we joined together since we are a married couple. The bathroom/toiletry is shared with other tenants, of which they have maybe 3 or 4 that I could notice on our floor. The showers have no curtain so you will have to squeegy the floors after showering. Everything about the bathroom has character in it self. We gave it a rating of 4 stars because the one man staff was soooo helpful. Not to mention if you are going to travel to the old country why not experience it with some old age characteristics.

not a bad hotel, owner was great.
Posted 23 Jul 2015 on HotelsHotel service was great but there is no air conditioning and we almost melted, also the showers in the bathrooms aren't practical;they have no screens or curtains so the entire bathroom gets flooded.

Fabulously central

Pros: Friendliness of proprietor and the cleaning lady was lovely.
Central location.
Cons: Not much because then the rate would increase
Location: Near Termini Station, Close to everything.
Minutes walk from Termini Station on Via Magenta. It's a basic hotel on the 4th floor but the rooms are spacious and clean. Fresh towels are provided. Shared bathrooms which are clean. The proprietor is very friendly and extremely helpful; offering good advice on several local places to eat, where to visit and he warned me about pickpockets and tricks used by thieves near the station. My room was a little noisy in the early evenings but if you're going to stay in budget accommodation in central Rome, you should expect that!

Great time
Posted 24 Jun 2015 on HotelsWe had a great time at Hotel Giamaica. Our room was very large and clean. The furniture was a but outdated but it has its charm. The bathrooms were clean. We were welcomed very warmly and the owner was always available to answer our questions. The location was great, right next to the train station. We had to walk quite a bit to get downtown and to the main sights but Rome is so large you can't escape it. We were very satisfied with our stay, especially considering our budget.
