Dolce Vita:Great location, no-frills place to stay
Posted 16 Jul 2019 on HotelsOverall, it served its purpose. The lady who helped us check in was nice. However, unlike American B&Bs, they wanted an exact time for your arrival since they don’t also live in the building. Fonsj (part of the management) started texting and calling me about my arrival time a week in advance. The bathroom had some black mold and there was very little toilet paper available. The keys frequently got stuck in the door as well. The reason the rating was so high: the beds were comfortable and the room was certainly secure. The location was perfect for walking to tourist attractions. Not a typical B&B though, so if that’s what you’re looking for, I wouldn’t suggest it. If you’re looking for somewhere that you can park your car (street parking), visit a bunch of great attractions, and sleep, this place is a great fit. There is also a fridge that you can use in the common room. If you would like a fan for the summer heat, because the room is very warm, you may be able to ask for one in advance (I wish we had).

Older hotel, convenient, reasonable for the money
Posted 4 Nov 2016
Pros: Convenient to the old port and historic sites.
Cons: I had to get used to the older style of the hotel. Also the area near the hotel was mixed with many immigrants.
This older hotel is located in a convenient area near the old port and historic sites. However, it abuts on an area of the city in transition due to many immigrants from the Arabic-speaking countries. I would caution single women to be extra careful.
The staff was very nice, spoke adequate English, and the room was comfortable (with a 4-post bed!). A modern elevator and upgraded bathroom utilities and air conditioning were helpful. The breakfast was excellent. I WOULD stay here again.

Staff is hostile
Posted 26 Sep 2016 on HotelsWas in touch with the host about check -in time. They were 45 minutes late and then took another 45 minutes to find our booking, the guy showing us our rooms was very rude and didn't speak English. The rooms were not too bad though the bathrooms were in bad shape and the common area was dirty and moldy. Complaining about the slow check -in, we got into an argument with the host who became increasingly hostile, so, trying avoid a physical fight, we left and stayed at a hotel, we did not get a refund. Not fun

Accommodation adequate
Posted 13 Sep 2016 on HotelsGood situation. Shower poorly designed and hard to clean properly. Bed cover needs replacing. Pretty grubby.
Otherwise good sized room which became our base over 6 days.
Breakfasts were basic. Packeted food and same each day. Ended up buying fresh produce from shop right next door rather than eat breakfast provided. Still a good experience though.

Nice location, cleanliness was problematic
Posted 4 Sep 2016
Pros: Location, beautiful building
Cons: Cleanliness
This B&B was both beautiful and in an excellent location - both close to main tourist attractions as well as being comfortably away from the crowds. The staff were very nice and helpful but their poor english made communication complicated - in particular when the air conditioning leaked water over the floor and we needed towels to replace the ones we used to clean up the water. The room its self was pretty and a nice size with beautiful windows, but the washroom, although modern looking, had some mold in the shower as well as the ceiling above. Overall a nice place to stay while in rome, but the upkeep is not up to par with the price paid.

Misled - no parking, extra 20 €/day
Posted 31 Jul 2016 on Orbitz
Pros: No parking - especially since I specifically searched for hotels with free parking and selected this one because it was on the list.
Cons: Deliver breakfast at the requested time. Do not arrive early without asking.
Location: Business area with some shopping and restaurants. 15-20 minute walk to subway or you can take a bus (4-5 minutes to the bus stop).
Selected this hotel from the search results of those that included free parking. Arrived to find there is no parking - free or otherwise. I was told to double park (illegally) until later in the evening when space would be available in a local garage for 20 €/day. Street parking, which was not available, was not free and there were time restrictions that would not work for anyone hoping to actually leave the car at the hotel to go visit Rome. Do not choose this hotel if you will be arriving with a vehicle.
The room was adequate and the A/C worked but the staff would turn off the A/C when they cleaned the room. Breakfast was coordinated for 9 am but they showed up with a tray at 8:30 am after they heard us awake (awake but not dressed and not ready for breakfast). Elevator was a plus, even if it was an antique. It was small but functional and beat carrying heavy suitcases up three flights of stairs.
Local bus routes are nearby making it easy to reach key points using public transportation but research or guidance is needed to understand the system and which bus/subway train to take.

There are free parking places on street level!
If you want a private parking you have to pay of course.
We turn the air conditioning off when nobody is in the room because we care the hearth!
It is a waste of energy to leave it on without anybody inside.
We love the hearth and we pay attention to preserve it
