This dynamic beach is one of the most visited spots in the area. Enjoy a variety of activities: sunbathe, swim, sail, dive and snorkel.

Rodadero Beach is a hub of sand, sun and surf on Colombia’s Caribbean Coast. Enjoy a range of activities including diving, sailing and paddle boating. This beach is a more active and dynamic option than its nearby rival beach, Playa Blanca. Rodadero Beach has a more Colombian atmosphere with fewer international visitors. The beach first became popular in the 1950s. Now, it is one of the most visited parts of Colombia’s northern coast.

Relax on the beach’s warm white sand. Go for a swim in the calm turquoise-colored ocean water. Try snorkeling with your own equipment or rent a mask on the beach. Rent a sailboat from vendors on the beach. Try scuba diving with one of the companies scattered around Santa Marta.

When you get hungry, haggle with vendors over local food specialties, such as strips of mango or alcoholic drinks in coconut shells.

Remain on the beach at night to enjoy a festive atmosphere with live music and artists. Restaurants, bars and shops stay open hours after the sun drops below the horizon. The ambiance is fun and friendly, with traditional Vallenato music. Enjoy this accordion-based genre from the Caribbean coast. Relax your inhibitions and dance on the soft sand with family and friends.

Stay at one of the many upscale resorts based around the beach in the affluent Rodadero area. Thousands of luxury apartments and hotels are located nearby. Choose your accommodations and admire the surrounding views of cacti and palm trees.

Find Rodadero Beach on the west coast of the Rodadero region, just south of central Santa Marta. A small mountainous area with a popular beach called Playa Blanca separates the two charming towns. Take a 4.7-mile (7.6-kilometer) taxi journey to Rodadero Beach from the center of Santa Marta. This should take about 30 minutes then you have the rest of the day to relax.
