This property is unique and definitely one of the most beautiful places we stayed. We came a week before the Festival of Lights, which opens next weekend. Beautiful Christmas decorations everywhere in the hotel and outside. The lobby is so festive with about 20 Christmas trees and so many lights!!! It’s definitely magical.

I first visited the Mission Inn in the late 1950’s. The updated facility is still very much as it was . I have seen it in many different rebirths. The staff was wonderful. I’m glad the property has been well cared for.

A terrible experience for the first night at The Mission Inn. Our room was right above the kitchens and the staff were so loud, including the noise of pots/pans/furniture, being moved around, that we were awoken not long after midnight and our sleep for the night was completely ruined. The noise was so loud that you could clearly hear it on recordings on an iPhone. A complaint was made to the front desk who said they would go and advise the staff to keep the noise down (should this not be what they are doing anyway if they are working anywhere on the vicinity of guest rooms?!). We request a room change for the second night. I can’t imagine this is a one off occurrence, and I’d recommend ensuring your room isn’t anywhere near the kitchen area. Not at all what you would expect from a hotel of this quality, and there was no mention of a refund for that first night. We’ll be staying at the Hyatt Riverside going forward.
