Centrally located, nice staff and clean rooms. There are about 25 steps to the reception area so pack light or ask the staff for help, if needed.
There is a church nearby with a bell that tolls each hour. If you are a light sleeper this might affect you but you will hear it from all locations in this area.
Would definitely stay here again. Large room, hot shower and friendly staff.

Even though they called it the Hotel Locanda ca da Iride on the booking website, It is not a hotel but an apartment.
There is no one at the property and you have to make arrangements for check in. Given that the trains often do it keep to schedule this made checking in difficult.
The photo indicating there is a view of the ocean from the balcony is misleading. One of the apartments has a more limited view than shown on the website photo, the others have no ocean view at all but are next to a ongoing construction site with a lot full of debris and junk.
Also have to walk up 35 steep steps to get to check in. That is difficult with any baggage let alone a larger suitcase.

We are VERY clear about check in instruction(or u get lost with gps) and time!! We never had problems with check ins as log as people read and are checking what they actually book! You booked the garden room with no view and probably didnt even check when you booked. As you probably didnt check our DETAILD and long message explaining where are Not a hotel and ALL you need to know for check in and also to ask to be sure your correct room.The costruction site is not our property and u only see it if you exit the room so its not really your concern.Lucky you are one of the fiew thinking that!

The girl that checked us in was very nice. Really nice patio with a view, room was clean. Bed was a little firmer than we like but overall wonderful place.

The staff is very accommodating. Elena was great and housekeeping was very kind. The room is pretty far up a hill, so just prepare to get some cardio in. It’s a very quaint and quiet town. We very much enjoyed our time here.

Excellent communication from our host, Elena. Beautiful room, comfortable bed, great shower. Lots of closet space. We had a lovely patio surrounded by jasmine and hydrangeas. We enjoyed our coffee on the patio in the morning, while being serenaded by the birds. Joyful! The location is walking distance to all the trails, restaurants, sights and the water, but far enough away to be peaceful. There is air conditioning and a little fridge. Perfect for our stay in Riomaggiore.

I loved the location. It was away from the hustle and bustle, but an easy walk to the elevator and down to the harbor. The deck was huge and the view down the canyon was wonderful.

Beautiful countryside views
Posted 22 Apr 2024 on HotelsWe loved our stay here. It is a cozy room in the hillside of Riomaggiore. The picture included is our view from the balcony. We could see the Mediterranean and beautiful countryside of the town. Our room was clean, had everything we needed and was in a good location. Elena gave us specific instructions on how to get there from the train station ahead of time. We wished we had planned to stay longer in Riomaggiore.
