The room cleanliness was a little subpar. The pillowcase had mildew stains and the room needed to be cleaned better. The location was excellent and I enjoyed the breakfast. Staff were also very helpful.

Good evening. Let me start by saying in my 45 years of life I have NEVER given a review on a hotel stay but there was no way I can allow what happened to my children and I happen to someone else. I paid in advance for a room for one night (Saturday Nov 2nd) as my family was attending a religious ceremony on Sunday in Richmond. We live in Portsmouth Virginia. I noticed check in was at 3pm. We didn’t attempt to check in until 5pm on Saturday. I was told by the gentleman at the desk my room wasn’t ready. About 20 mins later while we waited with our luggage he went and checked and it still wasn’t ready. I asked when it would be he said he didn’t know and when I asked to speak with management I was told they weren’t available until Monday. PLEASE NOTE- at this time I was NOT told by him that if I wasn’t on site when my room was ready it would be given to someone else even though I HAD ALREADY PAID FOR THE ROOM and CHECKED IN. Needless to say my children and I go and eat dinner and when I return I am told that my room was given to someone else. When I asked how that was possible since I had previously checked in and paid for the room in advance he said it was first come first serve. That is abysmal service to receive and he pretty much offered me and my children a left over room. I want a refund in full for what I paid to stay at this location as well as the name and number of the GM so I can personally speak to someone about this matter immediately.
