Very remote and quiet hotel. Roof top area has a spectacular view. Room was clean and nice.

Beautiful Place to Stay!
Posted 5 Jul 2024 on HotelsWe absolutely loved our stay at São Vicente Lodge. The views from our room were out of this world and the room was so comfortable. The staff had excellent communication and were very helpful. We loved the location for travelling this beautiful island. Highly recommend!!

Sao Vicente Lodge canceled our reservation (which was made several months in advance) just a few days before our arrival. They never communicated with me about the cancelation; I learned about it from Orbitz. I then had to make numerous requests to receive the refund.

Terrible accommodation
Posted 26 Jun 2023 on HotelsWe had a stop-over at Ponta Delgada on our way to JFK, so we stayed there just one night. We took taxi to resort and felt like we were hostages stuck in the middle of nowhere. Checked in at 9pm and struggled to get a taxi to have a dinner (resort is in the remote part of island with NOTHING at all around it, except small village houses and cows roaming the coast). Called receptionist to help us get taxi (24 Hour Central Taxi had no cabs available and the private cab drivers either didn't speak English at all or said they were not coming to Sao Vicete resort). Receptionist lied, saying she called taxi who supposedly waited for us and left., Asked her for the number she dialed and conferenced her in: private cab driver who answered call said in broken English that he was asleep and didn't go out that night. Receptionist then went completely silent, never answering our calls again. This was surreal, terrible experience. Come and stay here if you want to starve yourself and get stuck with no transportation available in the entire island. The breakfast we were served next morning was huge and the staff that delivered it was friendly, but it didn't compensate for horrible experience we had the night we arrived. We had nothing to eat for almost 16 hours, since we hopped onto plane bound to Ponta Delgada from Lisbon. We will never return to this resort or Ponta Delgada.
