"On the first day all my money and my coat got stolen, it was to hard to find proper food close by, hard to communicate, no wifi, hard to find a bank and no banks take Canadian cards, can only exchange at airport, the host was painting the building and I got paint on my clothes that didn’t come out, there was a cockroach in my room, bed was very uncomfortable "

Ricardo's is a house in a very nice location in Varadero, situated between (and a few blocks away from each) 1st avenue and the Autopista. Walking distance to both the main Varadero beach to the north of the house. Walking distance to the mall with an amusement park to the south. Yet no big auto traffic around the house! "Rispetto alle foto per cui abbiamo prenotato, ci siamo ritrovati in una stanzetta piccolissima è scomodissima. Angolo cottura inesistente. Porta, se così si può chiamare, del bagno attaccata al letto. Siamo andati via nonostante avessimo pagato per 4 notti. Magari ci sono stanze migliori. Accertatevi per quale stanza state pagando. Noi abbiamo pagato per tutto quello che non abbiamo avuto."

"Our stay in Nena casa was just excellent!! Old couple who live there made our stay very pleasant! They explained us about places to visit and all about Varadero. Room was very clean and comfortable 1 single and 1 double bed. Grandma Nena helped to clean very difficult mark on the cloth. We had a feeling that we stayed in our grandparents house. Location is great, everything is around, 15 min walk to central. Very sweet couple. Highly recommend!!"

Affordable accommodation close to all action

"It was a comfortable peaceful place in Varadero and I am glad I opted for it. Couldn't ask for a better location it's very close to beautiful beaches all restaurants and shopping places. We were welcomed warmly by the hosts and they got rooms ready in a quick manner considering we booked the rooms on arrival. The whole surrounding area is quiet a short walk and you are on the beach. Varadero beaches are probably the best in whole Cuba. Highly recommended if you don't want to break your bank to have an outing in Varadero. "

10/10 for Amelia

"Amelia was hands down the best host, a real homely mother feel to her, warm and welcoming and excellent local knowledge. Explained to me in exact details how to get around on the bus (you pay $5 and it is unlimited for the day and takes you on a loop, if you needed to know). It is clear she puts in a lot of effort into running the Casa, the room was spotless, the sheets were sparkling clean. Everywhere smelt clean and it was all tidy. She also makes herself available when needed. Also a nice balcony you could sit out on just by the bedroom doors, perfect for a quiet chill in the sunshine. Breakfast was excellent made by her son, very tasty and plenty of it. Room had a fridge in it, which is a nice touch, esp as it is not filled with an expensive mini bar, you can just put your own drinks in there. Aircon worked perfectly. Security is clearly very important for Amelia, the gate is locked, for which you are provided a key. And the doors are kept locked too (even if I couldn't remember which key was which). If I return to Cuba I'll be hoping to stay with Amelia. "

"Cleanest place I have stayed in in Cuba. Good staff with very limited English and me with no Spanish. I arrived in terrific rain storm and the staff let me have my room early at no extra charge. Two cute, well behaved, friendly quiet house dogs. When I was waiting for a taxi the next morning, the landlady brought me coffee. Much appreciated. Nice clean place smelling slightly of new paint, always a good sign. "

Casa Isis Playa Tropical BOCA DE CAMARIOCA

"We had a lovely time staying with Isis. Her and her husband are truly lovely people. Their home was immaculately clean, they were friendly and welcoming without being overbearing, and the location was excellent. We were able to enjoy the beach which is only a block away and felt safe in the area even at night. The location is close to town and great restaurants. We had everything we needed in the home and Isis was always ready to give you whatever you needed. They were so sweet. It felt like you were staying with family. We loved lounging in their garden."
