Uncomfortable

Posted 16 Aug 2017 on Hotels
The walls were paper thin so you could hear other people's conversations. When we went downstairs for the free breakfast, the woman working there asked us for our room number but no one else in the room, like she thought we were stealing breakfast.

It is normal practice for hotel staff to ask guests for their Room number at either breakfast or dinner. There is nothing unusual about this and we find it strange that you should react in this way.

Not a great stay

Posted 24 Jul 2017
We stayed here for one night and it was our only unpleasant stay while in Ireland for 3 weeks. As a family of 4 I booked a family room. I was very disappointed that we had a full size bed, a twin bed and a cot. I complained and I was told that I was in a family room, I rechecked my reservation and we were booked for two full size beds, luckily my son is only 10 and he was able to sleep on the cot. I found this unacceptable for 150 euros for one night. The fire alarm also went off 3 times in the middle of the night. We stayed in over 10 hotels and B&Bs during our stay in Ireland and I was very disappointed at this hotel. I would not stay here again or recommend.

Beautiful hotel where we wanted to be!

can't say enough.! great hotel , staff are amazing! Attached restaurant has wonderful food! For never having seen it, I definitely found the right place right near where my ancestors lived and a lovely setting on Tullycross! Everyone was very competent and extra friendly! Just perfect and many great memories.

Nice hotel in Tullycross

Posted 1 Jul 2017
Pros: Location. Clean. Large room.
Cons: The bed for the fourth person could be more comfortable.
Location: Kylemore Abbey, Connemara National Park, Sky Road near Clifden
The hotel is conveniently located in the Connemara region, close to Kylemore Abbey and Connemara National Park. Directions from the hotel site made it easy to find. We booked a family room for four. It comfortably slept 3. The only reason my review is less than 5 stars is because the bed for the fourth person was a fold down couch/futon which was very uncomfortable.
