The restaurant la table de Balthazar was fantastic, and we really enjoyed the spa as well.

The hotel is about 50 metres down a one way street and my lift dropped me at the top of the road. When I arrived the hotel looked as if it had gone out of business. It was all boarded up and only by chance the door opened and I was able to get in. Paid a lot of money to stay here in order to use spa and restaurant. The spa facilities have to be booked and must have arrived at the busiest time and restaurant also fully booked. I was a single traveller and was offered to eat in the bar area which was a busy thoroughfare. It seemed strange how I was offered bar food and not allowed in the restaurant. On my return after eating out I noticed there was space in the restaurant after all. It seems that arrogant purveys at this hotel

A Gem in Rennes - the Balthazar Hotel & Spa
Posted 27 Jun 2024 on HotelsOur first time in Rennes, and after a bit too much road time, we wanted a nice place to unwind that was also centrally located, for our few days available to explore Rennes. When booking on Hotels.com, the Balthazar appeared to be that place... and we were not disappointed!
From the moment we walked thru the door, we could see and feel the elegance / class of the hotel, and of its staff. Beautiful and comfortable lobby, bar, patio... elegant dining room, relaxing spa, and well-appointed, spacious, and comfortable rooms.
The hotel is a short cab ride from the train station, and walking distance to center city, restaurants, a truly wonderful park, and the Saturday morning market.
