We enjoyed our visit. The property was easy to navigate. The pools were nice and it had a nice beach that you could walk and enjoy. The staff were all pleasant and helpful. Adrian and Obet were great at the pool area bar. Make sure you make reservations for your evening meals.

Excellent family resort, older property but very well maintained. We received a room upgrade which was very convenient. Service is consistently excellent throughout. Beach is much better than what we read in reviews.

We were scheduled to arrive to the resort on Nov 22nd. Our flight got canceled with United and then rebooked and Our layover was going to happen in Denver instead of San Francisco. Then that flight got delayed twice which would have made us miss our connection in Denver. United couldn’t get us on another plane until Nov 23rd and we would have arrived to Cancun on Nov 24th. We would have only had 2 days in Cancun instead of 5, so we had to cancel our entire trip! We were initially told we might get a full refund once Villa Palmar found out WHY our stay had to be canceled, and were told we would at least get a partial refund if not the entire amount. Well none of that happened. Villa Palmar is denying us any sort of refund or credit due to a “late cancellation” that was out of our control! They blame their strict cancellation policies. So we are out $3,300 and our 20 year anniversary trip!

Great place. Big rooms great beach friendly staff good food. Washer and dryer help as we are travelling with little kids.

There were limited dining options and even when contacting the resort in advance they never told us their primary dining hall would be closed during our stay and we had to make reservations every day. Our paid Pre-Arrival requests such as in-room treats and decor were not honored, spa treatments were missing and ruined our schedule that we had set. What was supposed to be a relaxing family vacation turned into a very stressful and inconvenient trip.

The staff at Villa Del Palmar are top notch! The food at all of the restaurants were also fantastic! A perfect place to relax by the beach and pool if you aren’t looking for a party atmosphere. But you can take a 45 minute taxi into Cancun easily for that.
