Was my second time at this resort for a wedding! Resort is nice, some staff are exceptionally nice and helpful and others are rude. We had a butler and I don’t know if it was who we had or how it works, but after the first day outside of text messaging he was not attentive to us at all, total waste of money. We upgraded for private pool and adult only pool, premium liquor. Lots of food options and you can utilize dreams next door. The drink options with upgrade were no different, grey goose, Don Julio, Hennessy was still not an option and had to be brought by the bottle. Traveled with a group and had fun, but would not return to this resort voluntarily if I visit DR again.

Restaurant food subpar at best. Bad steaks, horrible Mexican food, hibachi staff n show was better than food. Had no representation of Real Dominican food. Get rid of the Mexican restaurant and add a DR one after all we are going to DR. The cave water slide needs to be resurfaced it left scratch down my back. Also all the hallways have super slick tiles and are always wet. Water leaked cracks from shower to sleep area and she ended up slipping and falling. Out door tub had no hot water. Overall highly unlikely to return but the kind hearted hard working staff saved this resort from being 1 star.

Our VIP personal concierge Javier, was such a great personal concierge everything we need he was already on top of it from the time we got there until the time we left he even checked and made sure we made it home safe. The entire staff was awesome. Ivette and enolo was also great people. Because of them we will be visiting again very soon. Thanks to Javier for everything

We were VERY disappointed with Dreams Onyx! When we got to our room we couldn't get the door to unlock so we couldn't get out and when we went to call the Front Desk, the phone had no to cord on it. The TV also didn't work. The food was terrible. The service at the buffets was horrible. After we were seated it took forever for anyone to come to our table to ask for drinks and then we never got them. The waiters just kept walking by us like we didn't exist. When we asked them again where our drinks were, they seemed very put out. The food in the Mediterranean restaurant was barely edible. The meat was so tough, we couldn't even cut it with a knife. The couple beside us left immediately after getting their food, it was that bad. I understand you're not going to have 5-star meals, but at least make them edible! It was very noticeable most of the staff didn't want to be there. There were a few that went above and beyond and we appreciated that. We did have a horrible experience at the swim up bar in the lazy river. The bartender was so focused on our 12 year old daughter, it was creepy. He kept asking her questions, how old she was, where she was from, what she likes to do and would not take his eyes off her at all. He barely looked at my husband and I when we were trying to order drinks. He was so creepy, we immediately left. Seemed like unless you were Preferred status, you really didn't matter.
