I just want to worn everyone that the restaurant options listed on the website are just a misunderstanding advertisement. Restaurants are there but you are unable to get reservations and everyday there is a line of people complaining about this. For a week of stay there we were able to get only one reservation, after multiple complaints. The food at the buffet is not grate but you don’t have any other options. She’s and entertainment are not very good as well.
Staff is nice, except guest services. The place is clean and the drinks were ok. Overall I would not recommend it as an all inclusive option, only as a regular hotel where you don’t plan to spend too much time.

Staff were nice. Area around the hotel is safe. Restaurants are nice, delicious food, and not expensive.
Only one buffet restaurant actually available and the menu is the same every day. In order to make a reservation for any other restaurant, you must wake up early in the morning to make reservations. The app is open at 8am and out of 7 days not one reservation we were able to make. Fishing tours are a big scam as well. We booked a boat for 6 people (6 hours), and the one we got was for 3 2 captains. Had to return after 1.5 hours because it was unsafe to continue. Paid $650, no refund because it was our decision not to continue the tour. Construction was ongoing day-night; bars opening at 11am; no service around pool area or beach. Beach towels were old, worn out. Beach towel’s area closed down between 1-2pm every day. Would not recommend this resort.

Lots of construction didnt get to use swim up pool bars. Construction at 8am right out our patio doors. Couldn't book reservations for restaurants as it was supposably by 801 am. Staff wouldnt greet you.
1 Bartender through the whole place was friendly. Front desk was unhelpful to any of requests for knowledge. Bars closed by 10pm and didnt open till 11 am.
Will not go back or recommend

Renovations are still under way. But it’s not bad. Would not go back again. Just a one time thing

Certain staff with responsibility, i.e. managers, are a little out of step with the situation ,I asked for a simple thing, but they sent me from one to the other, including to the general manager of the hotel, because in the end they knew that I would give up (laughing behind my back), if he was in the hotel, I would also go to him...

Disappointing Stay at Catalonia Riviera Maya Resort & Spa
We were really looking forward to our family vacation at Catalonia Riviera Maya, but sadly, it did not meet our expectations. Upon arrival, we were excited to check out the amenities, but quickly realized that many of the resort’s features were either closed or unavailable or just didn’t have. The spa was only open on the first day of our stay, and after that, it was inaccessible. The gym was closed, and to make matters worse, the main pools were also shut down. It felt like a lot of the resort was in maintenance mode or just not operating as advertised. Had to listen to drilling and hammering during my stay , the lobby entrance ceiling was being fix so the path ways were blocked off had long walk to lobby
To top it off, only two restaurants were open daily, limiting our dining options significantly. The food quality was mediocre at best, and we expected more variety given the price we paid. The staff was not particularly welcoming or friendly, and we didn’t feel the hospitality you would expect from a resort of this caliber.
There were very few activities available during our stay, which was a huge letdown for our family. We paid a premium for this vacation, but felt like we didn’t get value for the money. For the price, we expected much better facilities, better service, and more things to do. Overall, we were very disappointed with our experience at Catalonia Riviera Maya, and we definitely won’t be returning.
