Ferry overnighter
Posted 11 Nov 2023 on HotelsNice hotel - very good value and clean
Difficult to find but if we hadn’t taken the slip road as per sat nav and gone a bit further there was a sign for the hotel and a better entrance
We had our dog with us so the big room was a bonus
We booked this hotel as it said :-
English spoken
Bar/ lounge
Room Service
None of this was available for our stay - probably better in the summer
Fortunately we had food and drink in the car that we were going to take home
Restaurants available in the next village but we couldn’t use as we didn’t want to leave our dog

Idyllic countryside hotel
Posted 24 Aug 2020 on HotelsBeautiful little hotel located in a picturesque town in Cantabria. Peaceful setting with enough amenities on site and good recommendations for places to eat in the vicinity. Very helpful and friendly staff...would definitely recommend

The property could have been lovely but was unloved. The garden and grass needed serious attention and the furniture needed a clean. No amenities in the hotel as although there was a small kitchen to get a drink it was looked on the day we were there and had to wait until 6pm when someone arrived to unlock the door as hotel unmanned most of the day.

Great Countryside Hotel
Posted 6 Sep 2018 on HotelsLovely spot a few miles from the center of town. I woke up to an awe inspiring view of the surrounding farms and mountains. Breakfast was simple and good, and the gentleman at the front desk was very helpful. I was really glad I chose this place - like a country home with all the comforts.

Nice Hotel, not that easy to find though, a very kind man in a local bar drove his car to show us where to go.
A little remote, no restaurant, but had a bar and a small cafe room. We didn’t try the bar and went into Puente Viesgo itself, for dinner

Excellent
Posted 1 Jun 2018 on HotelsWe chose this hotel because it was only 30 minutes from the port of Santander. What a beautiful surprise. The location is rural and very attractive. The building is old but tastefully converted and modern. We dined in the local village of Puente Viesgo (la Union) where we were also made to feel very welcome. After booking we discovered some prehistoric caves were nearby and booked to visit them too. They were absolutely amazing and beat Lascaux and Altamira hands down.
We intend to explore more of this beautiful area and will definitely stay in Villa Arce again.

Beautiful and luxurious
Posted 29 Jan 2017 on HotelsI was impressed with Hotel Villa Arce. Despite its modest rates, it felt like a luxury destination thanks to its beautiful interior design and setting. We only spent one night there because of our travel schedule, and were truly sad to leave.
