Marvel at the stained-glass windows and works of art decorating the interior of this church, which forms an important part of the community.

Known for its mesmerizing stained-glass windows, the Princeton United Methodist Church is one of the highlights on iconic Nassau Street. The early 20th-century religious gem has prime position in this college town, facing Princeton University. Appreciate the gothic design of the tower that rises from the center of the church.

Study the colorful panes making up the stained-glass windows sweeping around the church. The panels portray biblical figures, such as the Apostles Matthew, Mark, Luke and John. Visit the Jesus Chapel for the glorious stained glass depicting the Good Shepherd.

Attend a Sunday worship service in comfortable clothes or download the church’s podcast to catch up with the teachings at a more convenient time. Sit at one of the dark wooden pews and appreciate the serenity in this quiet religious haven. A nursery is available to look after young kids. Hear the chime of the electronic bells at noon and late in the afternoon during the week.

The church has educational classes for adults as well as a Sunday School for kids. Bring the little ones to a Summer Sunday event, which comprises art workshops and games alongside spiritual teachings. Check online for other events at the church. In 2018 a car show was featured.

Walk along the street to experience the lively student atmosphere. Purchase crêpes and ice cream and enjoy your snack on one of the benches. Later on, try cocktails in a bar and chat with some of the local residents and students.

The Princeton United Methodist Church is on the northern side of Nassau Street, which runs through the center of Princeton. Ride a bus to the stop beside Nassau Presbyterian and walk east for a few minutes to get here. The church advises finding parking on the streets surrounding it.

While on a visit to the church, stop at other nearby attractions such as the Princeton University Chapel, the Maclean House and the Joseph Henry House.
