"We often stay at Hotel Santa Maria on Praia Plateau because it is perfectly placed on the central pedestrianised street, close to all the historical and cultural sights. The local staff are very helpful and always cheerful. The hotel is comfortable and clean. It has a lift and delicious buffet breakfasts. "

"This was the best hotel we stayed at on our four island tour. The staff there was super nice and very helpful! The decor and styling didn’t make any sense but was very nice and fun. The space was huge and had a great living room, excellent rooms and a really nice rain shower with excellent hot water. "I chose it for having a restaurant and a roof top bar with a pool. It turns out the restaurant had only two options (rice or pasta) and the bar was closed. The pool is so small it has no use. The room was ok but many things were missing, like hand soap or even some water to drink. The staff barely speaks any English, hard to communicate. The breakfast was pathetic. NOT recommended"
