The staff was very friendly. It was exactly as advertised. Very cute, quiet place. The gardens were lovely. We had a garden room. So we had a cute comfortable screened porch. It was very homey.

Tiny rooms with poor staff

Posted 20 Feb 2019 on Hotels
This place is far from town so you need transport. The rooms are tiny but well fitted. The hotel is run for the hotel and not the guests. They even have room notices about paying for damag. Certainly makes you unwelcome. They smile nice but at the end of the day they are working for the boss. Poor place. Avoid

Pretty place in a wonderful town

Posted 6 Feb 2019 on Hotels
This is a very nice place because it has a traditional, yet modern Thai style. The patio area in back is gorgeous. They offer an ample continental breakfast with good coffee, juice, fruits, toast, and Thai sweets. I met many nice travelers at breakfast too. I got the last room, with 2 twin beds. The mattress wasn't very comfy, but I imagine their queen beds have better mattresses. The only other complaint is that the water in the shower goes all over the bathroom floor & toilet. This is my pet peeve about Thai hotels in general. The location is OK. It's on the other side of the railroad, so if you're on foot it can be hard to get to the main part of the city & beach. But, everything is close in Prachuap & you can still get to the city center by cutting through 2 nice markets on the way to the sea (about a 15 minute walk). It's a very nice town! Its Friday-Saturday night market on the waterfront is now my favorite in Thailand because they have excellent, cheap seafood, and a nice crowd of locals + a handful of foreigners.

It was a good budget hotel, clean, quiet and modern. The place was modern and we'll themed. My only complaints were bed was a touch firm and toilet (it randomly gurgled) otherwise is was a really great place and very welcoming.

Dreamy Home from Home in Glorious Prachuap

Posted 18 Mar 2018 on Hotels
It's been a big dilemma for us whether to review this unique oasis or not: if we tell the world how good it is, the world will book it up and we will lose our secret hideaway. At first sight, a very unassuming property which, as you enter and review, transforms into the stylishly designed inner sanctum that is Palm Sweet. The owner, Aon, has an eclectic eye for beautiful ambience and comforting surroundings. The room was arranged as a small suite; with an annexe entrance furnished with sofa, coffee table and cloakstand - beautiful Thai bath robes and powerful fan. Then to the bedroom which was of good size with welcome aircon. This was located on one side of a most relaxing and creatively-designed courtyard, bedecked with stylish hammocks, loungers, seating enclaves, all hung with glorious flowers and vines. Breakfast is an eternal self-service feast of fruits and cereals, divine pastries, sticky rice tid-bits.... coffee and tea.... just help yourself. An Edenic experience. There is no restaurant as such but the fully-equipped kitchen is at the guests' disposal and the simple experience of visiting the market just 3 minutes away and bringing back delectable street food and heating/serving on Palm Sweet's crockery is a unique experience for today's jaded traveller. On one level, I hope no-one reads this review as we want to keep this experience secret. On another, we want to shout it from the roof-tops: It's amazing!

Best patio in Thailand! delicious breakfast in the garden, very comfortable rooms and public spaces, good design. So beautiful orchids and other flowers in the palms garden. I did not even want to go to the beach. Best hospitality we ever met and very helpful owner and staff. Very recommend!
