Posted 26 Sep 2019 on Hotels
Detail to cleanliness was missing there seemed to be only three young staff members who seemed to be doing everything I think they even cleaned the rooms there was a lot of dust in rooms and dirty mould showered bad crack in bathroom floor tiles even toilet basin was cracked furniture showed signs of wear and tear plus sun damage now we know the forts are for sale they seemed to not want to bother with diner touches

Excellent location but flawed as a hotel

Posted 20 Aug 2017 on Hotels
Can't fault the location but there were some serious flaws. Firstly we were invited to partake in a buffet lunch. There was no mention of any charge but when we checked out we were charged £15 per head. That felt very underhand. We stayed 2 nights and the dinner menu was the same both nights which was disappointing but the food was delicious. We were gifted afternoon tea by a relative. We had to chase this up about 5 times and eventually we got it at about 4.30. There were no scones cream or jam and 3 of the 4 items were chocolatey. The sandwiches were a bit rubbish. Overall it felt like it had been thrown together from what they had available and was not what was specified on the menu. There were lots of used bottles and glasses left around for over 24 hours. The bedroom and bathroom felt tired. For example half the bathroom floor tiles were cracked. The blinds over the bedroom window must have cost £10 at most and were falling apart. They had no place in a £500 a night room. The hot house was closed for the whole of our stay. The hot tubs were closed for most of the second day and when they did reopen it was only 1 of the 2. The staff were generally nice and friendly but they all seemed to have too many different roles and always seemed rushed. There were times when we needed staff and couldn't find anyone anywhere. In conclusion the location was amazing but as a luxury hotel it fell well short of expectations.

Birthday surprise with a difference!

Posted 24 Jul 2017
I booked this trip as a surprise for my fiancées birthday, as we like doing things that are a little different! This did not disappoint! An amazing experience, the hotel itself is beautifully decorated. The staff are very attentive and helpful. The food was delicious. Laser tag and the outdoor jacuzzi are a must! Would recommend to anyone.

Unique Luxurious Experience at No Mans Fort

Posted 21 Oct 2016
Pros: Everything! The accommodation, food and history in the very unique building were second to none!
Cons: Drinks were rather expensive but otherwise no complaints
Location: You are taken to the hotel by boat from Gunwharf Quays, Portsmouth
No Mans Fort is the larger of two forts in the Solent which have been turned into hotels. It delivers a unique luxurious experience - the perfect "get away from it all" with amazing food and drinks, accommodation, history and things to do such as watching the sun go down from a hot tub on top of the fort with amazing views all around and rum infused hot chocolate round a lovely warm fire pit after dinner. They also have laser tag, a spa and a cabaret bar available for larger groups.
