Thaxter is a great spot right downtown Portsmouth. It was right next to lots of food options and to see all the parts of the town. The staff were great and super helpful. And check in was so easy!

My husband and I came for our honeymoon and greatly enjoyed our visit. The one thing that would really improve the rooms is if they had mini fridges. We had a cooler and tried to keep everything on ice but having a fridge would be so helpful.

Absolutely wonderful stay! Great location, we were able to walk everywhere. The staff was kind and helpful. We also relied heavily on the ‘locals list’ on the hotels website and it did not disappoint!
