This is a very convenient place to stay if you are looking for accommodations near the PDX airport. It is a very basic, inexpensive hotel room, nothing fancy, but serves the purpose. I felt that the check-in process was very confusing. I booked the room through a travel app and was not prepared for several things. First, you have to enter the property through a lift gate by obtaining a parking ticket from the machine at the gate. It looks like you are trying to enter the property of another hotel that shares the parking lot. The other hotel's sign was predominant, I could barely see a Red Lion sign as it was very small and obscured by a bush. I thought I was at the wrong location and turned around looking for the correct entrance only to discover that had been the right entrance. It had not been made clear during my reservation process that I would have to pay for a parking ticket and go through a lift gate to stay at the hotel. I was not using the parking lot for anything other than my one-night stay but I still had to pay $10.00 to park there. There is no elevator so it was a pain to struggle with my luggage up the stairs after a very long day of travel, but he desk clerk did assist me with my bags.

The mixed reviews had me a little nervous but I was pleasantly surprised by this hotel. The staff was super friendly and the airport shuttle was always available even when my flight got delayed and I arrived in the middle of the night. Room was clean, the beds were very comfortable, the water pressure in the shower was great. The hotel is very close to the airport and has a gated entrance which is great for some added peace of mind. There is not really anything within easy walking distance but there is a major shopping plaza very close (Target, Ross, Barnes and Noble, IKEA, and a lot of food options). We did a lot of rideshares and it should be noted your drivers will need the gate ticket validated to get out without paying. The front desk made this quick and easy each time. My friends and I were looking for a budget hotel that was clean and safe and this was perfect!

It smelled so bad of mist and stale cigarettes in the room. The air conditioner was filled with white stuff not sure if it was some sort of powder they were trying to use to mask the smell or it was some kind of mold growing. I had a headache the entire night we stayed and couldn’t stop sneezing and wheezing! Terrible stay.
