We recently had the pleasure of staying at Château du Bec du Gave for three nights, and it was an unforgettable experience. We stayed in the Aurora room, which was beautifully decorated with a perfect blend of elegance and comfort. The attention to detail was truly impressive, feeling both luxurious and homely.
The owners of the château are lovely people who went out of their way to ensure our stay was perfect. Their warmth and hospitality made us feel like cherished guests rather than just visitors. The breakfast served on the terrace is also a highlight and truly delicious!
The views from the château are magnificent, especially the views over the river. It's a perfect spot to relax and take in the natural beauty of the surroundings. The grounds around the property added to the tranquillity and offered space for peaceful walks.
A special mention must be made of their friendly dogs, who added an extra layer of charm to our stay. They were always happy to see us and made us feel even more at home.
Overall, our stay at Château du Bec du Gave was exceptional. We highly recommend this wonderful place to anyone looking for a peaceful, luxurious retreat in a stunning location. Thank you to the wonderful hosts for making our stay so memorable.

The owner, Philippe, made us most welcome and ensured we had truly excellent service throughout our stay. Our room was large and very comfortable and the breakfast was excellent. What stood out was the lavishly appointed reception rooms, bedrooms and bathrooms. These are all exactly as shown in the website photographs, but still need to be seen to be believed.
If you want air-con and an on site restaurant then you will be disappointed, but then it wouldn’t be an authentic French Chateau!

Delightful Country Chateau
Posted 28 Aug 2021 on HotelsExcellent service great view. It was so lovely to sit on the patio area overlooking the river and have a glass of wine at arrival and breakfast the next morning. Lovely grounds and fabulous setting. Very quiet and peaceful. Large rooms and shower. Comfortable bed. Very kitch déco but extremely clean. 30 minutes from Bayonne. Definitely will stay there again !
