"The complex had everything we needed. Spacious and clean apartment with an amazing view over Funchal and the sea, with a nice size balcony and outdoors seating. The downside was the road in-between the accommodation and the facilities. "Excellent location. Close to shops and restaurants. No steep climbs to get to property either. Taxis easily available 2 min walk. Only one downside was that check in wasn’t till 4pm. However, the management was happy for me to drop my luggage earlier so I could explore Funchal. I would definitely stay there again and would highly recommend."

"Lovely colourful rooms. A bit on the small size but you don’t spend a lot of time in them. Great that as a little kitchenette but if I recall correctly no kettle? Nice little swimming pool at the back. Also can use Pestana pools next door. The pool restaurant next door could improve on their snack offerings. Offer simple things like hot chick fries and snacks. Good location, close to restaurants, grocery store and a great bakery/cafe (A Confeitaria). The staff was super friendly and helpful....

"The property is a 15 minute bus ride from the centre of Funchal, in the Santo Antonio area. We really liked this as it felt like being in a very normal suburban area, even if this area did bring the world Ronaldo! "Great location overlooking the heart of Funchal. Welcoming staff. Room was clean and comfortable. We even enjoyed the ambiant music that greated us each time we walked in. Breakfast and dinner were quite tasty and generous with a selection of local fruit and international fare. The roodtop bar and pool had an amazing view and were a great place to relax and enjoy the sunset. "

"Loved our stay in Barcelo. Rooms spacious and bed very comfortable, bathroom clean and good size. Perfect location for everything, the street is amazing. Breakfast excellent, all you could wish for, and very comfortable reception area. A luxurious hotel with very friendly and helpful staff. We would definitely choose to come to Hotel Barcelo again, our stay was magical! More drawers for clothes would be useful, also our shower caused water to flow on to the bathroom floor unless we put towels on the entry floor. "
