Incredible Honeymoon Spot

Experience was fantastic! Private pool with incredible views and setset from your room. Super helpful and professional staff, we disnt even know they were there! Breakfast and dinner were great - awesome honeymoon at Escarpa.

Beautiful escape

Beautiful place, feels high-end for a very good price. Lovely breakfast and uninterrupted sea views. Rooms are modern, nicely furnished and very clean. Slightly out of the way so a car is essential, and like most of Madeira it’s on a hillside so not suitable for anyone with mobility issues. Highly recommended for anyone looking for sea views, infinity pool and a relaxing break.

We had a wonderful stay at Escarpa and it served as our perfect home base to head out and explore the island. The area is remote so a car rental is definitely recommended and give patience on the road that the hotel is off as it’s a very popular tourist destination due to a natural waterfall within 5 minutes walking distance however created a lot of congestion on the very narrow and steep road with cars parking or stopping in front of the drive leading to the hotel. Take note that the hotel is not air conditioned therefore if it’s quite hot out the rooms can be warm at night. The breakfast is lovely and staff and owner Petra are very accommodating to requests.

We absolutely loved our stay at Escarpa! It truly is the perfect sanctuary and hideaway, the panoramic views of the banana trees, waterfalls and ocean are breathtaking and on a clear night you can see the night sky full of hundreds of stars! The hotel is really peaceful and offers a lovely breakfast with lots of variety, there are massages available upon booking and there is a lovely infinity pool overlooking the ocean. The housekeeping service is very prompt and thorough and the rooms were well equipped and felt like new. There is also a lovely restaurant associated with the hotel which provides delicious food. It is in a great location and central to the North of the Island and Funchal (30-40minute drive). There are lots of bars and restaurants nearby, in Calheta Beach, which is only a 10-15minute drive away. We would highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a peaceful escape in Madeira!

Everything was great-Location,natural beauty,the amazing breakfasts....Petra and her staff were great. One thing that upset us was the service at 90 degrees restaurant at night-in this case it was New Year's Eve.The server,a great guy, was inappropriately rushing us which took away a lot of the experience.People are on holiday and should never feel rushed.

The experience at Escarpa has been exactly what we were looking for. Relaxed vibe, outstanding quality and service. The view from the room and the swimming pool is breathtaking. Beds are incredibly comfortable with direct view of the ocean. Breakfast is personally cooked by an amazing chef every morning. The staff are welcoming but it feels like you have the place to yourself. It might look too good to be true, but it is as good as you can see in the description, maybe even better. Thank you so much to the entire Escarpa team. We can't wait to be back.

Wir hatten hier einen tollen, wirklich entspannten Urlaub. Es hat uns alles rundum gefallen. Den einen Stern Abzug gibt es nur, weil die Unterkunft hier und da etwas renovierungsbedürftig ist. (fehlende Fliesen im Pool, angestoßene Möbel). Zudem hätten wir uns in der Kitchenette eine kleine Kochplatte gewünscht.

Tolles Hotel mit erstklassigen Frühstück und Blick der Zimmer auf den Atlantik. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Zum Hotel gehört auch das Restaurant 90 Grad. Das Restaurant hat ab 14 Uhr geöffnet und hat sehr leckere Gerichte zu fairen Preisen und ebenfalls mit einem tollen Ausblick von fast allen Plätzen.

Uns hat der Aufenthalt im Escarpa sehr gut gefallen und wir würden jederzeit wieder kommen, wenn wir noch einmal auf Madeira sein sollten. Die Lage der Unterkunft mit Blick auf das Meer und die Bananenplatagen aus dem Bett ist wirklich toll!

Et lille paradis

Et helt igennem dejligt sted. Medarbejderne Melissa og Abilio er serviceminded på en dejlig personlig måde som får dig til at føle dig hjemme. Værelses var helt igennem lækker med fuldt udsigt over havet og solnedgangen. Og den smukkeste pool af små fine blå mosaikker og udsigt i der uendelige. Og brug endelig deres taxaservice Paul. De kører dejlig rolig og er gode til at fortælle historier om øen.
