Dear Colleen, thank you for choosing Ocean Views by Azores Villas for your stay at São Miguel and for the valuable time spent sharing your experience with us. Sadly, your comment surprises us and falls below our standards. Our property is located in a typical fishing village on the surroundings of the city, mainly habited by local fishermen. At no time did we have any security concerns, and we even had some guests who developed very good relationships with the locals and neighbours. Despite being a first line sea view, our property does not have direct access to the beach (450m away) or any natural pool (850m away), nor does it have a pool as per our announced amenities. The Azores are part of the European Blue Flag Program, whose main goal is to certify the environmental quality that distinguishes the efforts of various entities, towards improving the marine, coastal, river and lake environment and is awarded annually to bathing areas and marinas that comply a set of criteria in the areas of environmental education and information, management and safety, water quality and coastal environment. Ocean Views by Azores Villas is located in the middle of 2 awarded locations (Forno da Cal and Milicias Beach).The reason why we were unable to offer an early check-in was due to the fact that we needed time to repair an equipment malfunction and, for your comfort and well-being, we wanted to have it fixed before your arrival. Unfortunately, we were only able to gather everything needed 5 minutes after your arrival, as we informed you through messages and telephone conversations. Our maintenance team, led by an english-speaking service director, went to the location, after informing you, and knocked on the door to be able to access the equipment and resolve the malfunction.We truly hope we have the opportunity to welcome you in the future and prove to you how we are capable of being part of a safe and unforgettable stay in the islandBest regards
