Only one major issue was late night guests making lots of noise when they arrived early morning, walls were a bit thin.... and a couple of small dogs yapping a lot.
But...! Food was good, the town quiet, and friendly staff. The room we had was clean and comfortable. A good stopover and would stay again.

Out of season travels...
Posted 6 May 2019 on HotelsWe decided to stay at the "Restaurant" Le Cardinal after a very long day at the Amiens flea market. We wanted to escape the crowds and go to a hotel with a restaurant attached, away from the city.
On arrival, the hotel / restaurant was locked. A telephone number was on the door to contact the proprietor - (Which was not the same as the contact given through Hotels.com). I was let in by another guest who was staying there and the proprietor / Manager turned up about 10 minutes later.
We were told that the restaurant was closed as it was "off season" - (Not mentioned at all in the booking forms). The room we had been allocated was at the back of the hotel. The bed was comfortable enough, as was the cleanliness of the room and bathroom, but that was it. No coffee or tea making facilities, no drinks available - at all - so after a shower, we went to a local restaurant (The only one open at that time) and had a meal there. We were offered breakfast at our point of departure, at a supplement of €9 p/head.. We declined and went to the local Boulanger and bought croissants and baguette, which we ate later at a cafe down the road. Overall, a very poor experience.

Arrived to the hotel at 11 pm and the doors were shut. I pressed on the buzzer and waited for about five minutes repeatedly pressing the button and then nothing. And then I telephoned the two telephone numbers that were shown on the locked door. I called them and they went straight to answer machine. I knocked on the door for 10 to 15 minutes and nobody came to open the door. The lights in the lobby in the reception area were on but they were not being manned. I would like a full refund for this put back onto my credit card I had to go to 3 different towns and finally I found a hotel at 2 am. Please confirm when you have give me a full refund.

Last minute booking merits another trip
Posted 27 Aug 2018 on HotelsStop off en-route to ferry.
Sat nav took us to the opposite corner of the square but, had the light outside been working properly, this would have been avoided.
Hotel access is via busy restaurant where one of the staff checked us in. Booking had not been received by the hotel but this was not a problem and we were quickly allocated our room but did discover that parking was on-street and not private.
Quirky door lock took some working out but the room was clean and tidy with toiletries and towels but no tea/coffee facilities.
Breakfast was neither included nor offered when we checked in.
Only one spare pillow which we shared but bed was large and comfy so we were soon asleep.
Check out was quick and efficient

The room was comfortable & clean. The shower was a pain, fitted very high up, not enough water pressure so had to take it off the fitting to use so not convenient for showering or washing hair. We were staying for three nights and Sunday night after a long day out we found the hotel was not serving food. We were told there was the kebab shop or the snack bar. The snack bar was closed and we did not fancy a kebab so we drove to Amiens about 20/25 minutes to get a meal.

Simple hotel /restaurant in Picardy
Posted 30 Sep 2017 on HotelsWe were just looking for a simple night's stay. This place fits the bill perfectly and has a good restaurant for dinner.
