Posted 17 Jul 2024 on HotelsPlymouth was incredibly busy for graduation so my normal hotel was not available, the Kynance was one of the only options I had.
Friendly welcome and good staff but the dated interior struck me straightaway, nothing about it is inviting, including the walk to the room.
The room was small, was on a slope, no care or attention to anything in the room. A cramped but efficient bathroom and shower. The mattress and pillows were very basic and not particularly comfortable.
The best thing about it was I was only here for 1 night, whilst I appreciate the town was busy to charge over £100 for this experience was disgraceful, £40-£50 would be the maximum

Thank you for taking the time to review us, although your review doesn't make particularly pleasant reading, especially as we always try our best for our guests. We are a little confused as to some of your comments - 'the walk to the room wasn't inviting'. What would have made the walk inviting? We are a hotel and, apart from stairs and short corridors, there isn't a lot that can be done with those areas - however, we are clean and well decorated.'No care or attention to anything in the room' All of our rooms are clean and checked for any snags which may arise by our housekeeping team. in the same vein, our mattresses and bedding are all of a high quality and are replaced regularly. It is true that the city is always very busy at Gradation and we are also sorry that your usual hotel wasn't available to you - it seems probable that the fact you were too late to book with them (although Graduation dates were announced many months ago) has negatively coloured your stay with us and, as is evident by the many happy reviews we have, your stay is most definitely not indicative of our guests usual feedback.
