Superb location, spectacular coastline, great food, divine spa (according to my wife).
Must try end rooms (like 209) with shower overlooking the rugged Indian Ocean coast.
When we arrived there they had no knowledge of our stay. They were renovating and were not taking bookings. They immediately prepared a room and got a chef in to make dinner for us. The staff went out of their way to make our stay comfortable. We will definitely be back as they once again proved that the client comes first.
The Plettenberg Park is extra-ordinary. It's one of the few places in the world with true magic. My second trip, and it was even better this year. The building itself is contemporary and beautiful, set high up on the cliffs with just the ocean roaring on one side and a nature reserve on the other. The food, delicious and prepared with love. It's the people that welcome you into their family with genuine kindness, happiness and humour that make it very, very hard to leave. This could be my favourite place on earth!
This is the no 1 rated hotel in Plet? Not to my mind, I'm sorry.
Being situated on a cliff is only great when the weather is good, otherwise you are slap bang in the face of the wind and the rain. To ring for entry into the property you have to get out of your car (in our case in the rain), the dirt road isn't too well kept. On Sunday morning the hotel ran out of water halfway through my shower! Door lock didn't work.
Food was good, view spectacular when the weather changed for the better. Staff very friendly, but technical staff took their time.
The Plettenberg Park Hotel and Spa is a unique experience that you won't easily forget. The staff and setting are outstanding. The facilities are extremely well maintained and the spa must be experienced. Every detail has been considered and nothing is too much trouble.

Disliked: Cleanliness
The veiw from our room was amazing. the staff was excellent. The Spa had no privacy. Transparent glass windows. The spa was very cold. No room temperature control and the electricity kept going off. The therapist was excellent. The let down for me was the food. I was served pork-I dont eat pork. Sadly I ordered fish. Gave my order 3 times to the waiter and he could not get it right. He blamed the kitchen staff. The hotel was very empty. I would have liked a gym facility.

good room size, view fantastic of coast
Hotel needs an enclosed bar area to relax when weather is bad. Food menu needs to be more extensive. Otherwise very comfortable.
We originally booked one night as part of our journey down from Cape Town to Port Elizabeth but we enjoyed our stay so much that we arranged to stay another night on our return journey. Lovely views, particularly enjoyed the view from the shower. During our second stay we were also invited to use the jacuzzi- I'm not sure how many guests take up this offer, but it did look like there could have been sand/similar in it. We used it anyway, and it was very pleasant, but it would have been nicer if it was completely clean. Similarly, we didn't use the pool, but it looked like it too had sand in it. The hotel is on a cliff overlooking the sea and some sand is to be expected.
Awesome location, if you want a quiet special spot
Management and staff made a real effort to make us feel welcome and the attentive GM was happy to upgrade our room to one with a sea view. What a location outside of the bustle of plett. Nestled on the cliff side near robberg it has a private 'beach' area below. While dinner was a bit disappointing given 5 star rating, breakfast was excellent. Overall a great stay.
Escape into a luxury retreat away from the crowds. Great views, great service, lovely setting. Two things, website could be clearer on dining options, they do a full service dinner menu albeit a set menu and the room we had being dual aspect got a lot of sun and was hot and there is no aircon like many upscale SA hotels! Overall v good
Fab hotel, complete luxury and couldn't fault a thing. Views from the room were superb we sat and watched whales from the balcony. It is a bit out of Plettenberg bay and I'm not sure about access without a car, but the location itself is stunning so we were ok with not being near the town. Staff were excellent and service couldn't be faulted, we went to ask about where we could get a car wash (after some off road driving) to be told it had already been done for us. Expensive location but def worth the treat for few nights of our honeymoon.
The view from the hotel is just amazing. We had great time relaxing at the hotel spa as well as exploring the gorgeous route to the beach nearby. The hotel staff and manager were amazingly helpful, doing everything to make our stay unforgettable. We thank them for the great time at the hotel.
My husband spend only a single, glorious night at the Plettenberg Park in February 2013. We were met with warm towels and juice in the parking lot by Kyle and Michelle. They were warm and hospitiable and did everything they could to make our stay pleasurable. The facility and it's location are exquisite. Being from the US, we can only hope to stay at the Plettenberg Park again.
Fantastic hotel - one of the best I have stayed in anywhere. The only dowside is that, whilst the food is great, the menu is limited for dinner and it is a drive into Plattenburg Bay.
molto positiva. hotel con 10 camere (suite) molto confortevole e curato con vista sul mare dall'alto della scogliera e all'interno di un parco selvaggio. ottimo anche il cibo
