Plaza de Armas Shopping Center

See colorful street art, browse the shops in the old train station and make use of the excellent transport connections in this former main square of Seville.

The Plaza de Armas of Seville by the Guadalquivir River used to be a popular meeting point, home to a bustling train station that has since been repurposed into a shopping mall and bus terminal.

These days, the square looks a little run-down and it’s mainly used as a transport hub. However, this plaza is due for redevelopment and the plans include a new stop for the Seville metro, making this transport hub even more connected.

If you happen to visit the Plaza de Armas international bus terminal during your time in Andalusia, admire the enormous glass panes of this hangar-like building. It looks mesmerizing at night when the building is lit up and you can look all the way through. Gaze up at the airplane that is suspended from the ceiling, another reminder that this square is foremost a transport hub today.

If you don’t have to catch a bus right away, take a moment to check out the street art in the Plaza de Armas. The large spray-painted portraits and objects look very life-like and photogenic.

Airport buses regularly arrive at and depart from Calle Torneo, just out front, while city and regional buses use the bays inside the terminal. Rent a locker for your bags if you have less than a day spare to see Seville. If you are arriving by car, find the Plaza de Armas parking garage next to this bus station. There is a tourist information kiosk inside the bus terminal and pay-to-use public toilets in the basement.

The terminal has a small playing area for kids, but there is a lack of comfortable seating areas and restaurants. If you have a long wait ahead of you after purchasing your tickets here, it’s recommended to walk around the city instead of lingering here.

Explore the nearby historic city center to get introduced to the timeless beauty of Seville. If you love art, stroll to the nearby Museo de Bellas Artes de Sevilla (Museum of Fine Arts) in the Plaza del Museo.
