Dated modern property in need of major upgrades and investment. The property is aging and in need of repairs and updating. The bedrooms are large but badly designed. We had a plunge pool which was very cold, half empty and tired. The decking was uneven and loose. The towels are mainly frayed and threadbare. Nowhere to hang anything in the bathroom and the wardrobe was inside the bathroom. The shower merely dribbled. A hard modern look which was very dated. The TVs didn't support Netflix etc and the Chromecast didn't work.
The Grill restaurant was Kosher and were unable to eat there due to Shabat. The Cochina was the alternative which was ok but more fast cafeteria than fine dining.
The bars were open plan in the impressive foyer, but sit was unfortunately always windy and there was nowhere cosy and quiet to drink.
the Club room was convenient and the buffets had much choice but very limited vegetarian/vegan options. Staff were very nice though.
the Spa was limited to male and female jacuzzi, steam and sauna so we just didn't use them. What a waste of space having this! The massage was nice and the imposing relaxing pool inside the stone dome was very cool experience.

Very nice facility with attentive staff. Walkable to many restaurants and 5th avenue. Uncrowded when we were there.

Property was nice but did need some maintenance. Food was overpriced. Would have been nice if plunged pool would have been warm and cleaner. Paid extra for the plunged pool in room but was unable to use as it was really cold and appeared dirty.

I just spent 3 nights at the Grand Hyatt for my bday and I was so pleased with my stay.
First of all the hotel is incredibly beautiful. Rooms (rooms, because I requested a new room and I was accommodated immediately) are beautiful, clean, spacious and comfortable. The staff had decorated my room and left a cake for my bday. The pools are incredible. The pool area is HUUUUGE with an amazing view on the ocean.
My room was maintained daily, and staff was so helpful and kind with everything. I had seen some bad reviews before I got there and was a bit nervous but it couldn’t have hoped of better for my bday. I am so grateful for my stay.
If I may say one negative thing was… the food… the menu from the pool isn’t cheap and isn’t good, I’m a picky eater, but honestly…. There are hundreds of options all around the hotel so who cares. The hotel is located perfectly maybe 50 feet from la quinta and you can walk everywhere. I definitely would go back to this hotel again. Thank you for an amazing birthday.

Only negative remarks would be right after we checked in, we were invited to another desk where we were overwhelmed with things to do off property. We thought there enough wonderful amenities at the resort it felt like welcome here, now let’s leave here and visit other hotels for breakfast and other activities
