Phenomenal experience from arriving to going home, nothing was to much to ask, the cottage and amenities are amazing, we got engaged here and it was the perfect setting for it.

Lovely premises and location with one small issue
Posted 19 Aug 2024 on HotelsLovely set of cottages in the N Yorks countryside. Really rural location and we had great weather to enjoy the area and the villages.
My only small gripe was when the broadband went down .
When I tried to contact the owner as per instructions, we couldn’t by WhatsApp or phone due to no phone signal in the area. The instructions said to knock on the farmhouse but it appears that the owners don’t live on site.
We survived without it but the instructions need updating

Thanks Graeme, appears the entire valley was offline from Saturday lunchtime through to Monday morning, afraid there would've been nothing we could do about it even if you could find us. We are fully moving into farmhouse in the next week or so, but have only been around during the day until now. I think I will note where most phones start working in the guest book, so that when (sadly not an if) internet signal goes people will know where to head to make urgent calls. Glad you enjoyed the location and cottages in general.

Quiet and dog friendly.
Posted 31 Jul 2024 on HotelsLovely quiet little place. Very relaxing. Not so great for kids as it is practically middle of no where. Not much around unless you want to drive to pickering etc.

Thanks Michelle, we are very remote, some people come specifically because of that, others to use us as a base in the centre of the North York Moors to tour round. Everyone's different - a guest last week thought it great for his 8 year old daughter to do the 10 mile walk around the valley...

Not staying again
Posted 10 Mar 2024 on HotelsThe place has nice views however no back garden, couple of blinds were broken especially the one in the bedroom so the light was coming through. The cottage was freezing cold when we got in and the bedroom heater was not working. There is no signal and the Wi-Fi was not good in the cottage. Unfortunately wouldn’t be staying there again.

Well presented with stunning views!

There are a few different cottages here, we stayed in Valencourt.
Quality furnishings and fittings, was very comfortable and cosy for a family of 4.
Only frustration was the showers. Very difficult to get the right temp for the kids. (I think its to do with the hot water pressure)
Even so it didn't spoil our stay, lovely touch with welcome pack in the kitchen, tea, sugar, milk, bread, butter, fresh orange juice and biscuits. Very appreciated!
But the best part of all which pictures on a website can not do just is the stunning views of the moors and countryside. Which ever window you look out from you are greeted with amazing veiws.
They leave you to yourselves to enjoy you accommodation but are also very friendly and approachable if you need any help.
Would highly recommend for a peaceful quiet stay.

Perfect location.
Posted 19 Jun 2023 on HotelsThe cottage was ideal for my husband and I. The location was perfect with lots to see and do in the countryside and on the coast. The cottage was well equipped, although we’re big tea drinkers and would have loved a teapot. It was comfortable and very quiet so we slept well, always a bonus for us. Our son, his wife and their dog joined us for the weekend and had a lovely, relaxing break.
