Please return my money. I didn't stay there. She was also terrible, taking down to me, wanted to charge me extra $100 for my dog. But she didn't speak in a friendly way

Dear Caroline You have booked a non refundable rate with a room that is not for pets on a booking site that does not even allow you to enter pets. When you arrived your behaviour during the check in was shocking as i could review on our front office camera. Or using your words : terrible" our front office manager tried to help you by making an exception and let you take the pet into a room that is not for pets. You refused to pay and walked out. What made you think that you can bring a large dog into a hotel room that is not advertised as pet friendly. Why did you have to be unfriendly to our team members? what make you think that you deserve your money back ? why you keep on insisting that you did not book with expedia ? but you did ! why did you insist on the fact we advertise pet friendly for that room? We dont ! Not on any site and especially not on Expedia. That room stayed empty. Your email notes written to us threatening us to go public and write bad reviews is another prove of poor behaviour. It is behaviour like this why less and less people want to work in hospitality. we have blacklisted you, the Forest Lodge Resort will not welcome you on the property. We hope that you reconsider your behaviour for the future and do not treat other hotel staff in that manner. Best wishes

The “Lodge” was pleasant enough. Room clean, cosy and tidy. Staff not thoughtful putting cleaning trollies right by our doorway before we had checked out at 10am. Gave an unwelcoming ‘get out’ feeling. They could have waited another 10 minutes. When I dropped the key to reception the German owner wasn’t really interested and just stayed sitting and typing on his computer.. Poor courtesy and hospitality.

Dear Andrew We like feedback and I agreed with you that our team made a mistake and I apologized for it at least 4 times. As you were drilling in your point i kept on apologizing and repeating that i agree and we would address it. You said you ran a high quality Hotel in the past yourself. Hard to believe. Well the way you behaved and the way that you are giving feedback now over the internet is poor and unprofessional. Iven the morning you exaggerated and reacted way over the issue on hand. I was very friendly to you and apologizing. What did you expect us to do ? the situation was over, nothing could have been done as you did not say anything when it happend but. Only when it was all done and too late to action to rectify the situation. Also my Asian team members who served the room next to you are very friendly and respectful and if you would have said a word to them they would have realized their mistake immediately. They are new to the team and did not realize they disturbed you. So your complaint was received and agreed on and apologized. What is the point of writing your comments on internet. Stating that I was not interested is a blatant lie. I had a conversation with you for 5 minutes,I got up from the seat and agreed with the point you made. I am fine with critique and feedback , I will not have people lie and exaggerate a small issue into a huge thing. I can't imagine that you have treated your former employees well. I dont see you having much understanding of hospitality if you react in that way. Do not take your hospitality frustration out on the young generation of hospitality workers. What you did 20 years ago is not todays reality. Do not expect perfect details and 5 star service form a 3,5 * Forest Lodge, this is not the Royal Palace and we are lucky enough to have any team members after Covid. They do their very best and we are thankful and proud of them. Simply parking their Cleaning car next to your room to clean another room is not really the end of the world. So I would say that with the remarks you make, you show poor courtesy and lack of hospitality understanding. No Empathy . We hope you find other places to stay that will make everything perfect for you. Best wishes for your future travels.

Dining menu for dinner, didn’t have the items we ordered. And they charged us the more expensive option

Convenient

It was a very convenient place to stay. Having a microwave and toaster was perfect for us. The room was adequate in size, with a fold up table and chairs. The was some noise from the adjoining room. The laundry was convenient but fairly expensive and needed coins. The restaurant was very good with delicious smoked duck and a helpful and attentive waitress. The walk around the little lake was pleasant.
